WHY CANT I MAKE MY GOD DAMN ELITE UNITS?

this is really pissing me off

i started a campiagn as HRE, and after about 60/70 turns found out that i couldnt make my elite units (gothic knights, zweihanders etc.) even in citadels and such. i came on here, asked around and was told that you can only make them after the mongol invasion warning came up...

so i started a campaign as scotland, and once again the elite units (noble pikemen, highland nobles etc) were not on the building roster.

are all nations really not able to create their elite units until the mongol invasion? this sucks IMO, it just creates a 50 turn "boredom era" with every nation fielding feudal knights, while you wait for the sodding mongols to arrive so you can use your citadels properly!
can you change this in any way? oh and im playing Ultimate AI :hmmm:

ah ok, solved it! its down to the era mode thingy in the UAI mod, sorry feel free to close this thread
