    1. To get more men, you'll need to start a new campaign, but before that go onto options -> game options and set unit scale to huge.

    2. You can't. Try and attck ones they're already attacking, its the only way realy

    3. Adoption whenever it comes up works + men of the hour

    4. Armour upgrades from smiths (start with leather tanner) weapons with a swordsmiths guild

    5. Did you click the "Govern all cities" box when starting your campaign? I alway do, it allows you to control cities even without generals.

1 Go to game options, there's a unit scaler there, change it to huge and you will have cavalry on 60 per unit, and infantry on 120-150-200 depending on how good they are.

2 You can ask them to attack a faction, but it's not certain they will attack or attack the same city, they will go to war with the faction. However, you'll need to give them something generous in return, money, a region, etc. Sometimes you can ask for a crusade, depending on how good your relations with the pope are. (you can check that in the faction scroll at "The Pope") you can also launch a crusade against a city (only islam factions or excommunated faction, meaning non-catholics or catholic factions that have broken the popes rules.)

3 Well it just happens, every now and then you get to adopt generals and new ones are born. After a few turns you'll have enough.

4 You "retrain" them in settlements, at the recruiment window. They also get upgraded skill and armor if you take them to combat.

5 Just press the button "Auto-manage" and it will work as if you had a general there, the city will manage itself. If it's a big city you should move a general in it, castles don't matter as you can't change their tax and they never get illoyal.

Do you mean unit size? That's under the options menu in the game. You have to start a new campaign for those changes to take effect, however.

Be careful if you're modifying text files to get large unit sizes, as that can slow your computer to a crawl, so you'd better have "a hemi under the hood", as it were.

    Remember:

    1.) Change unit size FIRST.

2.) then start a new campaign.

3 how to get more generals
Conquer more cities and you'll get adoptions easier. You'll even have more children. The number of cities is tied to the number of reproductive success it seems.
