Destroying Scotland?

I started playing as England, and first wanted to get rid of Scotland, but don't know what I need to do to destroy their faction. I have taken all their settlements at the British isles, but what now? I can't see them anywhere else.

bring up the console with the ~ key and type toggle_fow

this will show you the whole map and where they are.

Sometimes they wander off into northern france.

Check Bruges.

see ireland, just send a preist there, also, if you blitz fast enough you can catch them while they still have one province, and they are a two battle province to beat

When I played England I found the Scots managed to get a piece of land to the east across the ocean.

Check bruges and rennes, those are the places they often go to. You might also want to check norway.

Or indeed the Middle East, if a Crusade has gone by already they may have joined it and seized some land over there.

(Odd though, when I play a non-British faction the English and Scots tend to do very little and end up as the two weakest factions in the game, their AI seems to be broken or extremely passive )

Only good thing about scotland is william wallace, need double his army to beat him with beginner generals. All they do for me, and I'm 50 turns in, is trying to siege Antwerp with 2-3 units against a half garrison of teutonic knights and prussian archers.

Check the bar graph, that will tell you how many settlements they have without having to do toggle_fow

yes but the bar graph doesn't tell you where the settlements are.

I found them. Their last settlement was Dublin. Somehow my priest in Ireland didn't see them.
Do I need to finish my current game to be able to select Scots at the start of campaign?

you have to destroy scotland, or beat the short campaign which means you have to destroy scotland

one campaign poland controled two regions around jerusalem because of crusades, so who knows.

Ussualy Hungary gets their first in my campaigns, really annoying, i own acre, damascus, and like 3 turkish states to not take Jerusalem

poland actualy took cairo and antioch according to my screen shots, and i swooped in as the moors and took jerusalem for my 50th region after taking almost all of western/northern/southern europe. i was able to find the scots that time.

kwazarian empire had palermo once, I woulda been pissed if I was trying to eliminate them. Never would of found that.
