The speed, effort and timing with which the U.S.A secured the Poland missile deal has done nothing but strengthen the Russian claim that the missiles are aimed as a strategic encirclement and strangulation of Russian sovereign strategic defensive capability.
N.A.T.O has shown itself to be impotant when it comes to conflicting interests, and the Western nations within N.A.T.O have been shown to be impotent when it comes to reinforcing propoganda so vehemenatly spewed against a strong and capable foe.
Russia has come out of the shadows with a blatant military operation against a wannabe Western ally, and a case. The West spits the exact same rhetoric it did against Iraq, Afghanistan, Iraq, China, Zimbabwe etc. The U.S, in the midst of perhaps the worst economic crisis of the last half century, seems fated to threaten war with one of the worlds most energy rich nations, that is already allied to Americas greatest threats, present and future.
It would seem there are two choices. Either America backs down and concedes that it is no longer the sole, definative superpower of the world, or in the midst of economic meltdown it declares World War Three. If Russia has the balls to draw their bluff.
