    Default The new world

What do you have to do to be able to cross the atlantic to go and discover/plunder the new world? I have a few fleets of grande Carracksand I have 3 cities ready to build 3 invasion armies.

I've had "the world is round event"

but the map just seems to end at ireland

The new world was removed in favor of the map extending East.

If you are using at least version 6.0 (which I'm assuming you are) then the Americas have been taken out to allow the map to spread further east. So sorry mate, no genocide and pillaging of indigenous natives for you .

you just have to wait 3000 turns

truth: no sorry if you play 6.0 or later there is no new world

It's more interesting than a big ocean and a tiny bit of land.

Like most things, it's all opinion. I prefer the America's in the campaign, it's one of the great features of DLV.

That said, SS 6.1 offers you a much more vibrant realm to conquer and the eastern flavor gives it a nice bit of Oompfh. I really enjoy every aspect of SS 6.1 and I have ZERO complaints.

Wait, I started an Aragon campaign and spent hours on it Just for the invasion of the America's!

pfff new faction new campaign I guess, but who?

Does Novgorod still have cossack gunners, and those insanely beautifull armours with the facemasks for their DVor, dismounted Dvor, Berdishe axemen, and heavy cavalry?

True, all the east does is taking away the fun of Filling Antioch with Pike militia's and watching the Mongols kill themselves on your formation. they just get stuck somewhere near the cumans or kwarezmians and never get away from that area, the " a new threath " message makes me laugh these days, since they never become a treath.

I fyou prepare for them, they became your most beautifull battle in the game with the highest casualties on enemy side you'll ever inflict!

In vanilla every campaign I played was planned from turn 1 towards this climax.

You only hate them because you fear them.

I personnaly hated the Mongols in vanilla. All the campaigns would play out the same. Mongols control the east my faction the west and as soon as you beat them, in came the Timurids. But I do miss invading the Amricas, it was always something I looked forward too as the campaign progressed.

Dude, check out the sub mod Battle for the Baltic. Novgorod and Teutons both have expanded unit rosters and they are extremely cool. They include the units you mentioned, plus sulitsi (sp?) heavy javelin cavalry, Novogorod Home Guard (studly heavy spearmen) and dismounted Boyars with swords along with the dismounted Druzhina with axes. Yummy. And yes, there are Cossack gunners.

Does the map encompass the entire known world or just the batlics?

Its just your normal SS 6.0 map with an enhanced and more realistic Novgorod and Teutonic roster. Definitely a must have if you want to play those factions. Oh and the middle east part of the map really needs another faction, like the Abbasid Caliphate.

Yeah adding the Abbasids would be cool. Theres a tutorial somewhere in here which teaches you how to create the Abbasids. But you will have to sacrifice a faction for its slot.
