meh nothing surprises me really about the olympics. All sides bend and break the rules in one way or another although I find that the minimum age one to be one of the silliest laws. Plus it seems more along the lines of sore losers than anything. Would Americans had cared about the ages if the Americans were actually able to beat them I doubt it.

I don't think its fair to ban a country from the olympics. The athletes work so hard to get into the games to tell them "sorry but we arent going tis year" would be such a crushing blow to the athletes. Punish those that are guilty.

I agree. The underage gymnasts who won those medals should be stripped of them. Hell, any athlete found guilty of any sort of cheating should be stripped of any honors they may have collected. But not the whole country. That would be unfair to the Chinese athletes who did compete fairly and honorably, which I would hazard a guess would be the majority of them.

Besides, banning the whole country would stir up a whole lot of bad blood between China and the West, which there is enough of already.

What should happen is she should be disqualified from every event she was in as should her team. This is just like doping. If one member of the team on a relay was caught cheating the entire team loses.
