    Default Sally battle exploit?

Playing as france, I layed siege to Bruges rebels very early. Waited 6 turns for the sally battle, when they finnaly left the city I figured I'd see if I wanted to fight the battle on the map. I loaded the battle and found the low framerate (my computer has trouble with sieges) really annoying. So i went back to reload and autoresolve. When I left the battle It ended up a draw because I left so early...to my suprise, when I came back to the campaign map I had taken the settlement, anyone else seen this?

There is quite a few exploit. Like my ally the papal state wanted a city and then layd siege. The next round it won major victory. I then reloading thinking hmm I want that city and then helped the papal state out only to exit from the battle as soon as entering and we where then lifted from the siege and pulled back.
I could then take the city for my self the next turn without the papal state annoying me.

I wouldnt recommend doing these things as at dont make the game more fun.

Same thing with sieging a city along with an ally... if you are the one who iniates the attack, you can just sit back and let your ally do all the fighting and you still get the city.

yeah, that's wonderfull, took constantinople without casualties that way.

Exploits are good, they make the game fun instead of insanely difficult

I'd assume you took the settlement because if it was a draw, both sides would return to their positions. Seeing as the sallying force probably had no food left, it makes sense that you'd get the settlement so long as you weren't defeated and the siege broken.

I find that in medieval total war my ally never attacks. Even my reinforcments under the new kingdoms feature never attacked even when set to aggresive.

First you have to give them a way in. They won't do anything until you breach the wall, capture a gate or get ladders/towers in place at the walls. Then it's "Katy bar the door!" time.

It did in my game, and it was quite an agrresive attack, me on one side with arty and they on the other side with rams and siege towers. We actually lose (we were attacking Constantinopole) because the time has run out.

Try not commanding them at all.. uncheck the box.
Of course they should have siege weapons or tower so they can get in...

Or if an allied army is already sieging a city, you can siege it as well and initiate the attack.
