My opinion is that it will depend on how the US Presidential campaign shakes out in the days after the conventions. If it's tight, I don't expect any resolution to any foreign political disputes until election day.

Well, any intervention against Russia will at least clearly mark a bunch of hypocrates - when US invades a sovereign country, no government officals move a finger. The US won't intervene militarily over Georgia. At least, I hope not. If Russia attacks a NATO member at some point, then that might mean war. Because if it didn't, then NATO would essentially be discredited and worthless. And if Russia attacks Poland, that would probably mean war, since there are new US missiles going up, and those people and equipment might be affected...

I very much doubt that the U.S would start another war that would be idiotic it will probably just be some dick waving and maybe economic sanctions unless Russia does something real stupid like attacking a NATO member but i very much doubt that.The situation will probably cool down and Russia will be satisified by regaining some former gl0ry.
