Default templar sergents vs Jerusalem knights?

Hi!, I have just started the Jerusalem campaign and i find strange this figures:

templar sergents, (dism) Jerusalem Knights, templar squires:

    recruitment:850,760 ,385
    upkeep: 225 , 480 , 80
    attack: 6 , 7 , 2
    defense: 17, 17, 16

i alone find this figures strange? seems like the squires and sergents are changed by eachother...

Sergents seem about right for disciplined, heavily armored spearmen. Consider that Italian spear militia have a "5" attack. Squires' attack seems low, but they have maces and are effective against armor, so they are actually better than they appear, especially after getting some experience. Again, consider that Knights of Montesa only have a 3 or 4 attack, but are devastating with their maces.

Upkeep for all the units also seems to be about right.

Spears have -8 attack vs infantry (based on RTW: BI), so the Sergeants are not as formidable as they look. Spear is base attack 5 + 1 for superior troops in Real Combat.

    seems right about the attack...
nothing to say about the upkeep? 225-80?
and why should be more expensive to recruit sergents than dsmounted knights?

If you are playing with RealRecruitment installed then unit cost and upkeep are not based on fighting power. Squires are 'religious order' troops so they cost very little to upkeep. Sergeants are professionals so they cost the standard rate to upkeep. Sergeants also have 25% more men in the unit than the Squires so they naturally cost more to upkeep and train. Dismounted Knights are feudal troops so they cost double to upkeep but have free upkeep in castles.
