    Default The computer seems smart.

Well i was england and Norway landed on my shores. I sent an army to make them get on my boat. I waited two turns the boat left the men did not. I attacked. Won and the next turn Scotland, Norway's ally, Attacked me with full force.

has this ever happened to any of you?

My friend, your are not alone. France, early campaign, I recently took Caen and had a limited force garrisoned. England then sent a half stack to Caen and wouldn't siege it. They just sat there, mocking me, meanwhile the land next to Caen started to turn black so I sent reinforcements from Paris to take care of them. On attacking, they ran away and I was out of moves and had to wait a turn, meanwhile an English general and his half stack came moseying on down from the fow(should have built watchtowers) and literally walked into Paris. I wasn't even mad. I simply applauded.

I wonder if it matters what setting you play, cuz I usually play M/M most of the time the AI can't seem to get out of it's own way. Though I do have to admit if you play with FOW on and don't scout properly the AI will jump in and bite ya on the Tuccus!

I play on M/M usually, the AI can be pretty vicious. It's all random really. Sometimes they're hopeless, othertimes they're damn supermen.

True, sometimes the turks dominate, sometimes ARAGON has a larger empire than HRE

the imporvments by lusted have definaty made these things more common though!

If you want people to attack you, weaken your border garrisons.
Conversely keep them maxed and you will have a much quieter (if more expensive) time.
I find the AI likes to attack me when a settlement is having a plague or if I've just stripped out some units to make up a Crusade or Jihad army and marched them off in the opposite direction.

AI is smart now and for example won't storm a castle full of pikes...

I miss good old times of 4000 dead enemies when I surrounded them in the streets of Damasq. Now they will walk away from a fight if they don't feel like fighting, which is both more realistic and problematic (luring enemy into storming my castle is my favourite way of getting rid of his army).

Now about OP's problem, I think it might be just a coincidence...

I dont really know if they are smart now. I also use the latest lusted ai and again my current campaign is a pice of cake on vh. Noone attacks me as venice I walked right over egypt with only 2 stacks of militias.
Noone at the homeland seems to bother even though genoa wants 100 gold piece or they will attack every 2 turn (they never do actually attack). The byzzie landed on crete and picked some flowers after returning home to constantinoble with them.

And this time I am actually not mr niceguy and have a good reputation. Still the ai dont care about me.
Well we will see if they change there mind soon.

It's simple. Either your garrisons or allies deter them.

    I'm used to vanilla AI.
My General got killed by light infantry with axes. The archer were hidden in the trees I charged into norway General died and i lost about 10 men after that but i won. What amazed me about scotland though is that they had a full stack in Europe and they were attacking my town with a full stack. Telling you man the AI is alive.

Using Lusted's AI, both Campaign and Battle:

On VH/VH the AI can be very aggressive. It always brings full stacks lead by generals with at least 5 stars and a few reinforcement stacks. Battle AI in contrast is pleasantly cautious and lets you come to it. However it does have a very nasty tendency to realign itself too often, especially the infantry. This means that a heavy cavalry army can get the drop on them while they are moving and flatten the lot with a good charge.
