Relax man, I'm one of those "Euro's" and I still think this is just a temporary phase that sooner or later will pass

And where do u hear europeans " acting like your dead or dying " ? cause if you heard them on TWC may I remind u that a game website does not represent the voice of over 700 mil. people and dozens of nations...

The American Economy is the strongest in the world; and will remain so for some time.

    A few points:
1)The USD (United States Dollar) is THE universal world currency. Every nation in the world (even those that bitterly hate us) takes the US dollar.

2)As far as I know the USD is currently the only world currency used to purchase oil (I know there are attempts to allow the Euro and Yen to do so but I dont believe that has happened).

    3) The United States economy is the corner stone of the world economy (and no this isnt blind nationalism talking) Where would the Chinese economy be without the us market demand for thier goods?...the answer is in the tiolet. Canada; Mexico; Japan; and a whole list of other countries have us as there greatest trading partners

    4) The dollar IS growing as we speak... it is gaining the ground it lost on the Euro, the Yen, and thankfully the Canadian dollar. (No offense to my brothers up north...I love you guys...but the day your dollar surpased ours I wanted to my self out of shame....)

    5) finally...the US is resilient...business is strong and as a people we love to buy random useless crap...that keeps people in business...which means more people have jobs...which means more people have paychecks/money..which allows them to buy more useless crap...its a wonderful cycle

So in short dont look down on the US or its economy....were still the KING baby

Which reminds me of this story:

On an island there lived a Chinese man, a Frenchman, an Indian and an American.
Every day they had dinner, and everyone was assigned his own job:
-The Chinese had to catch fish.
-The Indian had to collect fruits and vegetables.
-The Frenchman had to cook the meal.
-And the American's job was to eat as much as he can, leaving only some crumbs and fish heads for the other three.

When asked, the American said he had the most important job of all.
Because if he didn't eat that much, the Chinese wouldn't have to fish as much, the Indian didn't have to collect as much, and the Frenchman wouldn't have to cook as much.
They would all effectively be jobless.

But one day the other three kicked the American off the Island anyways, and discovered they suddenly had ten times as much to eat, and only had to work half as hard.
    The End.

I suppose if the Chinese and Indians and Frenchman only survived on his feces is the proper capitalist system of mutual benefit followed. However, once they boot him off, who will provide them with their ?

They would produce their own, that's the point.

Consuming isn't hard, everybody can do that.
The world will need a few years or decades to adjust, but if Americans stopped consuming there would be MORE for the rest of us, not less.

I think what gets Americans confused is that they think it's all about GDP, but it's not.
It's really about standard of living.

You might think its good for Chinese workers to work 12 hours a day, producing one hundred T-shirts for the American market and only getting payed enough to buy a single T-shirt themselves.
But they would really be much happier working just one hour a day, and getting 8 T-shirts instead of 1.

On the contrary consuming is hard. It requires money. Consuming isn't stealing, it's trading. Improving the lives of their civilians is what a totalitarian Chinese government's supposed to do, not the United States.

And that attitude got alot of american manufacturing jobs outsourced....what would happen is the Chinese company would see someplace else were people are deperate for jobs, move the tshirt making there and you'd have a chinese man screaming "they took our jobs". The cycle repeats itself.

, you crazy. Consuming useless crap is hard, and that's something we Americans can do better than any nation on Earth. We are Spartans of splurging on worthless .

Do you really think that if the American economy or the demand for goods in the USA just disappeared everybody would be happier?

“The only rule that ever made sense to me I learned from a history, not an economics, professor at Wharton. "Fear," he used to say, "fear is the most valuable commodity in the universe." That blew me away. "Turn on the TV," he'd say. "What are you seeing? People selling their products? No. People selling the fear of you having to live without their products." freakin' A, was he right. Fear of aging, fear of loneliness, fear of poverty, fear of failure. Fear is the most basic emotion we have. Fear is primal. Fear sells.” WWZ

Have you had your daily dose of fear yet? craziii

This is what I find funny about Americans (excuse my generalization):

When everything is fine it's capitalism this and capitalism that.
But the SECOND their economy makes a bad turn it's: Oh, dear President, SAVE US!!!! we NEED your government magic to steer our economy for all is in the hands of our great leaders.

Believe it or not but eight years of not only no leadership but no action in the legislature can have some pretty serious effects on the economy of a country...
