    Default Need to "cheat" myself a guild HQ.

    I'm testing out some effects I've edited for certain guilds, so I need a way to "cheat" myself into getting the guild HQ early so I don't have to play a whole campaign to see if it's working.

    I tried adding points for other guilds into the woodsmen's guild triggers (since it's faction-specific), but it doesn't seem to be working...

    Thanks for the help.

    Are you using a mod folder that is being run with a .bat and .cfg file? If not you could be experiencing problems due to issues with the Vanilla files being read.

    Theoretically what you've asserted is what needs to be changed for you to be able to get it early, if you can post all the edits you made to the guild and your triggers in here, it'd be easier to check the Syntax.

    Yeah, everything's unpacked, and I'm using the stainless steel .bat file and config, so everything should be fine with that. Furthermore, other mods I've done work fine as well.

    I'm at work right now, so I don't have the files handy, but basically, all I did was edit the trigger for the woodsmen's guild (again, because it was faction-specific) and added some triggers I plan on implementing with other guilds, but just starting with the woodsmen's guild to make sure they would work, I just want to test it to be sure without having to advance an entire campaign to the point of getting the HQ.

    So that's all I really need, a way to cheat myself the HQ earlier so that I can check the effects, if that's possible.

    Ok, here's the trigger I'm editing.

    Code:
    ;------------------------------------------
    Trigger 0182_Recruit_Archers
        WhenToTest UnitTrained

        Condition FactionType england
              and UnitType Peasant Archers

        Guild woodsmens_guild s  15
    and here are the changes I made to try to get the hospitaller knights chapter house early:

    Code:
    ;------------------------------------------
    Trigger 0182_Recruit_Archers
        WhenToTest UnitTrained

        Condition FactionType england
              and UnitType Peasant Archers

        Guild woodsmens_guild s  10
        Guild st_johns_chapter_house s  50
    Yet it's been 4 turns (200 points) and I haven't even gotten the chapter house.

    And you don't have any other guilds in the settlement? The trigger you specified would give points to the settlement that you train the unit in, so if you're training them in different settlements the points won't accrue. Also, I assume you're using England, which is catholic, so that wouldn't be an issue. The other possibility is your settlement is not the right size/type:

    Code:
    building guild_st_johns_chapter_house
    {
        convert_to guild_st_johns_chapter_house
        religion catholic
        levels st_johns_minor_ch st_johns_major_ch st_johns_hq
        {
            st_johns_minor_ch  requires factions { england, france, scotland, denmark, hungary, poland, papal_states, milan, sicily, venice, }
            {
                convert_to 0
                capability
                {
                    recruit_pool "Knights Hospitaller"  1   0.4   3  0  requires factions { england, scotland, france, denmark, milan, venice, papal_states, sicily, poland, hungary, }
                    population_health_bonus bonus 1
                }
                material stone
                construction  1
                cost  1000
                settlement_min city
                upgrades
                {
                    st_johns_major_ch
                }
    You need to have a Minor City in order to get a st johns minor chapter house.

    You can just add the HQ you want to the city you want in desc_strat temporarily for testing purposes...

    Oh yeah... huh...

    You still might want to test your triggers despite the shortcut, because my guess is you only want to cheat the HQ so you can see the effects, but in-game they won't be given it via the descr_strat.txt, meaning you need to insure that the triggers way works, or knowing if the effects work is useless.
