    Default "naval" trait

I went into descr_strat to change the naval trait for the Carthaginians and the Illyrians, since they generally make asses of themselves against resp. the Numidians/Celtiberians and the Thracians/Macedonians. I changed it into trading for Carthage and bureaucratic for the Illyrians, but Carthage still dropped a stack between Capua and Rome in the first few turns. I didn't wait to see if the Illyrians would do the same; do these traits mean that little? I just want Carthage to focus more on Numidia and Spain instead of pointless invasions into Italy ...

Carthage and the Britons should be set to prefer naval invasions, but I don't think the Illyrians are.

i've also noticed a huge increase in naval invasions by carthage. it makes annexing italy very difficult as i am forced to pull my legion back north to defend capua. not complaining just making an observation.

In descr_sm_factions for each faction check this section:
    Code:
    prefers_naval_invasions yes

thanks Florin. I bet you disabled rep for yourself so you wouldn't be embarrassed by the ridiculous un-ending amount you'd receive?

Not really. You don`t get significant amounts of "reputation" for tech support and modding help. You get it in the chat section of twc. Besides, alot of the people in need of help have 1 post only and their reputation doesn`t count. I remember long time ago, before switching it off I had lots of 0 points of reputation.

if you are willing to put up with lame naval invasions in the beginning years, they get much more formidable as the game progresses and the factions have time to develop...

well, in my last few campaigns these few lame invasions meant the death of carthage, as it gave numidia the opportunity to overrun them.

can anyone tell me where to change the "prefers naval invasion"?
