Is Russia endangered by a demographic threat? It seems that soon non-Russian citizens will be the majority in Russia as the ethnic-Russian population shrinks slowly. Life expectancy is low (65), median age is 37 and population growth is -0.4% per year. To the 1st of June, 2008, the Russian population was 141,888,900, while in 1992 it was 148,300,000~. More people died in 2007 than born, thus creating a situation where the Russian population shrinks in 1 million per year. So, do you think that Russia is endangered by a demographic threat, leading it to a situation where it will become from a Slavic country to a Muslim-Turkish country?
