Missing DirectX file error
Ok, firstly I'm running Windows XP 64.
I installed M2TW and got the error: This application has failed to start because D3DX9_30.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
So I reinstalled. Same error.
So I came here and read what I could find about this error. From what I could see the best advice was to update DX and install again. So I did... Same error.
I've tried many combinations of uninstalling, updating DX and reinstalling. It isn't happening. Anyone have any other ideas? I must have reinstalled about 6 or 7 times now.

Re: Missing DirectX file error
I don't know anything about 64bit but I'll give you a little I do know. Have you searched Microsoft's knowledgebase on this? Is there a windows/system32 folder and is it in there? Remember this game came out in 32bit days. You will probably have to do some fumbling around to find where it is and where you can put it so the game can find it.

Re: Missing DirectX file error
Are you using directx 9.0c?
(Go to start -> Run -> type "dxdiag")
At the bottom of the page displays your current version.

Re: Missing DirectX file error
Dont read the red. Found a much more simple solution.
I have this problem a lot with games, even sometimes if direct x is installed correctly it will give this error because it only installed the necessary files.
Here is my solution to any game that has a missing direct x file error, even when direct x is installed.
First, download the missing .dll in your case its D3DX9_30.DLL(64bit), Here is a link
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dl...shtml?d3dx9_30
Next, Navigate to "C:\Windows\System32" and copy the .dll to this folder.
Now try playing whatever game it is that is giving this error.
If more errors come up with more missing .dll files then repeat the steps I just told you but Google the missing .dll file (example: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...=Google+Search. ) then put that in the "C:\Windows\System32" directory.
I remember how frustrating this was for me,and I hope this helps you have fun playing your games. If any other missing .dll errors even happen, just use this method and that should fix them.

I didn't take note that you had a 64bit OS at first, you need the correct direct x 9 extension library files,
here is a link to a Direct extension library package, it contains the following .dll files(including the one you need):
d3dx9_24.dll
d3dx9_25.dll
d3dx9_26.dll
d3dx9_27.dll
d3dx9_28.dll
d3dx9_29.dll
d3dx9_30.dll
d3dx9_31.dll
d3dx9_32.dll
d3dx9_33.dll
d3dx9_34.dll
d3dx9_35.dll
http://www.threelights.de/page/proje..._update_64.zip
Open this .zip and extract the /install folder to your desktop, then run dxsetup.exe
This will install the .dll files you need, and some that you don't(but may need in the future) and fix the error that you are having.
