What about this for an innovative idea?

Hi all,
Is it possible to create a duplicate set of files that have been tailored for the Late Era, that could be loaded by the player at say, I don't know 1450 or something that would be save game compatible? This would allow the player a far more immersive Late Era experience!
That way you could remove alot of the Early Era units, create a slew of new units specifically for the Late Era (Swiss Armored Pike men anyone?) and do a whole bunch of other things <insert creative idea here>.

The big stumbling block would be that the new files would have to be save game compatible. :hmmm:

Nope, I doubt it - since it wouldn't be save game compatiable;

I long thought making a mod like this, however - you'd need to find a way to split up the .sav game files back into the originals then replace the EDU's etc with these, very complicated =/
