Thus why I said, "should learn some basic CPR and first aid". Its not all that difficult to take one class a year or every 6 months to keep up with the skill. If the safety of your child or pet is that important to you, I think a 4 to 6 hour class isn't too much to do.Yeah, but done incorrectly in a baby or a pet can result in death, so it is some risky thing to try if you're not 100% sure.
Besides, when you have to choose between the child or pet choking to death or cracked ribs and possible death, its a toss up. In the very least, for a baby, you can call an ambulance. But either way, first aid skills are always good to know.
Its the cops job to look out for the safety of himself and others. When encountering an emotional and irrational individual his first course of action must be to calm the situation. Obviously, in this case, that wasn't going to happen. So, yes, it was outside normal operating procedures, and that's why the cop shouldn't be punished, he was forced to handle the situation as best he could.Come on, that wuss couldn't harm a fly...
