My question is: Is it ethical that he let that couple's dog choke to death and didn't care? Is it ethical that the couple cares that much about a dog?

Simple and sad story really. The cop was being a dick. "It's a dog, you can get another one." Yeah, and some people can have another baby. That doesnt mean you let it die. Regardless, those laws are there for a reason and they have to stay that way. He could've killed himself, his dog and alot of other people.
The guy has caught a case ofhappens.

Regardless I would be breaking the law and the dog probably would've died if the cop took so long with the speeding ticket or not.

What the police officer did was completely out of order but a human life is worth more.
I knew you'd say that. This isn't a straight up gamble between a human life and a dogs life. The dog WILL die. A human MAY die. That is odds enough. If I was sitting in a room and had to choose between a man and a dog, obviously I'd pick the man. He may have family.
Plus I trust my own driving skills to speed effectively on the highway. This guy.. I dunno.

Bottom line, he should not have been speeding so much, but the cop was way outta line![]()
The title is misleading.
I thought the cop is giving out a ticket because the "dog died during speeding".
Older guy on TWC.
Done with National Service. NOT patriotic. MORE realist. Just gimme cash.
Dishing out cheap shots since 2006.
No way I'm going to stop in that situation.
Resisting arrest? No way I'm going to stop in that situation.
In any case, if its a pregnant wife about to give birth or a dying mother then its another thing.
Ever wondered why there's no ambulance for dying pets?

Sorry folks, its just a dog. You don't get to endanger the lives of other people for a pet.
As a teenager, I was taken to various houses and flats above takeaways in the north of England, to be beaten, tortured and raped over 100 times. I was called a “white slag” and “white ****” as they beat me.

But really, in all fairness were the lives of others really endangered? Don't we all speed, to some extent on the highway? If I were the cop I'd look at the situation, and then let them go on to the vet and follow them there to administer the ticket afterwards. I'm no pet-sympathizer but the cop was a jerk.

The cop could have given them a ticket for speeding quicklier and then help them get the dog to the hospital.
That would be a solution good for everyone.

Are you such a idiot??? With plesure i would kill a human to safe any animal from him. Animals live in the same planets as we do and we tread then as nothing. Because we are much clever as the animals, isnt a reason to kill them. Jerk!
I didnt watched the Video, because I cannot see animals Die. If it was human I would see it...
Alex
The video says he was going 100 mph. That's dangerously over the limit just about anywhere anytime.

Yeah and most of police activity is to raise money anyway.
Haha, I bet that guy had some explaining to do in front of his superiors before he got fired. What a walking PR disaster.
That depends entirely on how much you value the pet. The (most likely negligable) risk to other's lives was clearly outweighed by the dog's value to the couple in this case. The cop could have pulled them up and let them go again, or maybe followed them to ensure they didn't break the limit again en route. I'm sure that ticket could have waited. Seriously, what kind of sicko could stand there issuing a ticked while a dog is dying in the back???
