I had like 400 prisoners one time in a siege battle when I was the defender. And the value for the ransom was a whooping 3-4k gold.

Big man, pig man, ha ha, charade you are
You well heeled big wheel, ha ha, charade you are
And when your hand is on your heart
You're nearly a good laugh
Almost a joker
With your head down in the pig bin
Saying "keep on digging"
Pig stain on your fat chin
What do you hope to find?
When you're down in the pig mine
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry.
About a 1400 and the faction leader, and heir. It was a battle betwen Venice(me) and Milan. I managed to create a total rout and just captured all the units. I think the ransom was over 20k. I didn't accept, so the poor bastards were executed. I did take Milan the next turn though.
How to I get more prisoners. i just get about 40-60 prisoners.
Lots of calvary (I only use four, you can do it with 2), rout them early and let them run (be sure not to trap them so they fight to the death). Once they rout send your calvary after the furthest back infantry, dont bother with other calvary they're too fast. If you can catch the farthest back infantry you should be able to catch them all.
Use gunpowder weapons in conjucntion with fire arrows and a high dread general and they will run like fun really quickly. Also helps if you are fighting peasents or milita grade units as they are more cowardly.
My tactics are usually based on routing the enemy army, so I get tons of prisoners.
One is that infantry hold the enemy in place then I use cavalary on just one flank to attack the back of every second enemy unit. Then about 3/4 of their army will rout. And I always chase down routing units even in the middle of the battle.
Don't kill them all.
well that sucks.![]()
2406, in campaign, with a load of trebizond archers, latiknon and varangians. the prisoners were mostly italian militia, with the excpetion of the venetian king.
Once I defended myself ( 10star-high dread general and 5-6 units of vardaritoi) against allmost full stack of peasants commanded by one poor venetian general. There was very little fighting and I captured most of them (and executed them) Nearly 2000 captives, if I remember correctly. My personal record.

About 8000 in a battle as Templars against the Fatimids.

Under the proud patronage of the magnificent Tzar
10 star 10 dread general + heavy cavalry hammer and anvil tactics = 1500 prisoners (playing with huge unit sizes, VH VH). I captured the last king of England, and put him out of his misery (what, don't look at me like that, he was a leper....)![]()
"Five had been his brothers. Oswell Whent and Jon Darry. Lewyn Martell, a prince of Dorne. The White Bull, Gerold Hightower. Ser Arthur Dayne, Sword of the Morning. And beside them, crowned in mist and grief with his long hair streaming behind him, rode Rhaegar Targaryen, Prince of Dragonstone and rightful heir to the Iron Throne."
I remember taking over 1000 french prisoners + thier Prince
at the battle for Bruges, I kept hovering over Release / Ransom / Exectue just to hear them beg, then I executed them all =]
i got about a thousand in one battle once
killed about the same i think like 110 got away from a fullstack army
that was in campaign the ransom was worth like 20,000 it was ridiculous
my captures rarely higher than 400, but i have to play on small scale so the numbers arnt quite the same
