I just happened to be reading this book that I have in my infinite resouces and I seem to have found something interesting about Masonry. This is a quote of Albert Pike, the Grand Commander Sovereign Pontiff of the Universal Freemasonry (in other words "Mason Pope"):

Seeing how satan and Lucifer have absolutely nothing to do with eachother I wonder what in heavens name you are talking about?

The word Lucifer for satan comes from a misinterpretation of a bible verse directed towards the king of tyre and his downfall, Lucifer means light bringer, and is asociated with the morning star, and sometimes hepaestus

@s_n_g: Luciferianism in this retrospect came from the original idea of Lucifer being Satan. I know the whole "Lucifer is Venus" thing.

I'm Christian. My grandpa was one and he would have nightmares about satan raping him and stuff. Then he got out of it and it stopped. Weird.:hmmm:

I don't think so, my grandpa and his brother were both Masons their whole lives and both were practicing presbtyrians.

That's fine. The most irreligious you can be is a deist. Agnostics and atheists need not apply to the Masons.

This is a common misconception. Freemasonry is not Satan or devil worship. The fact that Lucifer is mentioned in Masonic texts is do to the fact that Lucifer means "morning star" in Latin, if I'm not mistaken. The Lucifer reference has to do with gaining enlightenment in regards of wisdom and knowledge. Freemasonry is a secret organization were men get together to talk about stuff. Its more along the lines of a thinktank.
