I created this topic because what tactics do you use to invade Britain, or bring the SU to her knees.

If you want Naval dominance use fighters+naval bombers. I completely raped Britain with it.

using naval bombers in HOI2 is like using auto_win in RTW... dont. Almost all players have imposed a no naval bomber house rule.
hint 2: NEVER attack in winter. ur morale will drop as if uve asked em to die immediatly.
hint 3: when u attack russia, be sure u make a few pockets, or else u have a hard time deeper incountry.

Abandon ground. It sounds obvious, but it's the most important thing to do in the East. Hold Italy, leave a few troops in Southern France (or the Allies land in Marseille), and fall back behind the first available river in the north of Russia. This shortens the front line, and if you can hold the line in Normandy, transfer the available troops ASAP. Kick the Allies out of France with the extra troops. That way you still have a chance in the East - just don't let the Allies land again.

The best thing to do is indeed give up space in northern russia, take military control of your ''puppets''. Send some division west, enough to drive out the Allies.

Reset your sliders to reinforcement, all those submarines they are building can be deleted. Reinforcement and after that upgrade is the key.

hmm I remember playing quite well once in that scenario, normal /normal I think, I let the allies overstretch themselves in northern france, then I stole all their supplydepots and crushed them inland mercilessly. I also encircled (exploited rather ) the a.i. since it kept attacking into stryj for some reason, all the time. I noticed how the soviet troops started flooding from the north for example, we had 1-1 ratio of troops there. So I let them advance into cracow where I encircled about 50 russians divs or so . I let them rot there a while and then I just wiped them out.

now im at 1946 january I think. I killed so many russians divs in the 1945 summer offensive that I was able to regain 1941 borders, I flooded into ukraine and advanced to the gates of moscow itself. Now its stiffening up a bit, since its still winter. My army is pretty modern. I could upgrade all my infantry but I wont, not until i capture the soviet capitol since 1945 infantry costs oil to supply, so the soviets have actually been catching up with their infantry as well. My panzers are pantherIIs though, far outclassing any soviet rubbish

My actual tips are mainly the followin: focus on the obsolete techs u havent got yet, decryption and encryption are critical, also ur oil refining sucks, tech up to the jet interceptors, and agricultural production. Then perhaps the hospital tech 1945.

I would kamikaze my whole navy (well almost, u can save the tirpitz and gneisenau i think, and other capital ships) into the channel to block any allied reinforcements, they cost extra oil anyways.

re-org the airforce in france and prioritize all reinforcements to western front. Send the balkan german troops and a few italian german divs into france as well, fortify northern norway with your finnsih expeditionary forces. Mil control the axis minors, put bulgarian troops guarding the greek coastline, Romanian and Hungarian troops can be used at the front quite nicely I think. I would suggest luring the enemy into encirclements in the south just to soften up the red army so it doesnt grow that much during fall and winter. And crush the allies in france!

during winter/fall try to garner as much oil as possible and put all your panzers under logistics wizards and don't use air force at all. Well if they start bombing, then scramble your fighters into air, but don't start patrolling for like the whole month, just keep doing these hit and run style raids on the enemy bombers and you wont lose IC horrifically. During the summer and the offensive phase, you should do the opposite and use those CAS and TAC mercilessly to hunt down any retreating russians. you should also build some more CAS imo, to supplement your rather small bomber force

That's quite simple: I play as the SU and attack Germany, let it gather huge momentom. Than I save and play as Germany in the same save, which leads to me crushing the SU. Piece of cake.

Invade Britain is easy; I simply use Naval Bomber patrolling English Channel for one year then suddenly drop ten divisions of Marine on Britain; I am sure AI was so shocked that they could not even react before Britain fell into my hand.

Paratroopers are too expensive, and if you don't patrol the Channel with atleast 8 fighter/interceptor wings, the British will kill your expensive naval bomber squadrons.

Which was strange for my campaign that time as there was no single British interceptor/fighter for whole war; I believe that is because AI flaw, as British AI was designed for an African campaign (and I never saw British got any action on Europe after that).
