Well, your asking this in the XGM sub-forum, so guess what the winner will probably be? Anyway, my favourite is definitely XGM, I've been playing it for nearly 2 years, and for a long time its been my sole mod, although I do play RS now, occasionally.

BTW, "faforite" is spelled "favourite" (or favorite if your American, they don't like the letter "u").

You really shouldn't be nitpicking at other people's spelling or grammar when your own is sub-par. Especially when the so called error is in fact acceptable spelling.

Back on topic. This is a pretty pointless question to ask in the XGM sub forum. I doubt anyone in this forum is goign to say another mod is their favorite.

And how is my grammar sub-par? You can't make erroneous accusations without backing up your material.... I've never heard faforite being a correct spelling of favourite. I can understand people having English as a second language mispelling/misinterpreting things but they should make an effort towards proper spelling to better express what they are trying to say. Pointing out a mispelling can only help a person improve there English.

Guys, is it just me, or fighting over some bad grammar is kind of stupid? You have to accept that not all countries provide top level education (if any) and it's not like everyone can afford FireFox.. (lol)
At any rate, "favourite" (or favorite for US) is the acceptable form of spelling the word. As for a special form like "faforite", it seems to be a quite common word in the engrish diktionary.

P.S. - XGM - Diadochi is the best! (can't say I'm NOT biased.. ) and Scutarii's spelling is good enough.

Can't forget about engrish, now can we?

What makes XGM unique is that, IMHO, it provides an excellent middle ground between the historical accuracy of EB and the sheer fun factor of vanilla RTW.

I love EB, but I also like sacrificing a little historicity in favor of a bit of the fun factor that got me hooked on RTW in the first place.

So XGM would definitely be my current favorite (but XGM: Diadochi, EB, Rise of Persia, Persian Invasion, and Troy: Total War definitely rank up there with DBH's masterpiece).

    But when Hegemonia finally releases...

Hmm yes XGM all the way, EB is too histerical er historically accurate for the game engine.

    Games are about fun.

Mod about Hedges and Moaning can't say that sounds good. (HedgeMoania).

Fix the problem, not the blame!

I would like to say my phaphouright (the proper engrish spelling) mod is definitely XGM. For all the aforementioned reasons.

I used to play a lot of XGM! Great mod! And I think its the best mod of Rome:Total War. But I still havent tried Europa Barborum, which looks great too. I sure didnt like Roma Surrectum. Too serious when it comes to all those different legions. It's aimed to be realistic like the real legions in past....but it bored me.

But nowadays I have to say that Stainless Steel of Medieval2 is my favorite mod atm. And I'm keeping a good lookout of this future mod : Third Age

Dont flame me because I like Stainless Steel more now
Got good reasons, its the best mod of Medieval2

    LOL ! haha, funny!!

But if you love those old skool PC games like I do, Zarax. Then you should definately check out this game : Masters of Magic

It's a mix between Medieval2:Total War & Civilization. Its actually a really good game although the graphics are really really crappy by today's standards .

First you have to choose a race ( lots of different races ). Then you get a start city. From there, you can build colonists to make new cities anywhere on the map. You have to make granary's, barracks and many other buildings in your cities. Then you can recruit troops and there's plenty of different kind of troops, ranging from infantry to cavalry, etc.
Another cool part of combat is that you can hire "Heroes" which are like ur Generals in Total War games. But they can get more experience and become stronger and stronger as they go on.
And the best part is that you can research magic. A lot of different spells can be under your command. Some of em can be used on campaign map like the "Vulcano" spell ---> A vulcano erupts next to a city that belongs to the enemy and wrecks the town.
Or common spells like "Fireball" which can be used in battle to strike at your foe's.

If you dont mind the graphics much, this game can be very cool! I used to play it for hours/days/weeks!

I think I only ever had the demo of it but I played the stuffing out of Lord of the Realm 2 when I was a kid. Now I'm going to have a look at it's older brother.
