Hello
I just installed this mod as it looks fantastic,
Now i installed the main app then the update 2.1 then 2.2 and then the music.
The game starts and i get to the campaign screen where it keeps asking me to pick a faction but there are none to choose from any ideas please

You need to install 2.0b - 2.6 - WOM - hotfix - musicpack.

Patch 2.1 and 2.2 are included in 2.0b so you don't need to install these if you have 2.0b.

ok did all of that i can play the custom and historic battles bit i still get the same thing when trying to play the campaign,il uninstall it all and retry

Follow the instructions and you should be OK. We've had not a single problem our side with installation - it always comes down to misapplying the instructions on behalf of the player, or problem with their PC setup.

Your issue very much sounds like you are trying to run the mod from an old version of BI. Have you followed the instruction to patch BI up to 1.6 before installing the mod?

Indeed. Find out which version you are running by going in-game, clicking on Options, and checking the top right corner.

Thanks for replying yes it is 1.6 bi,
i just reinstalled rome tw and bi both updated now i have these files to install

fatw_tns_2_0_basic_full_b
FATW_TNS_patch_2.6
FATW_TNS_WoM
TNS_2.6_WoM_fix
The_New_Shadow_Musicpack....

Now i think this is all i need right?
let me know and to which order do i install them please

Its all well and good taking the piss lads,but many people have trouble due to the amount of files and to which order and seeing as im an older player playing on vista which is totaly

for installing games.

Tattso - no offence intended (or taken)

DaVinci - I did this on one set of instructions. I included a simple explanation and then a more detailed one for those who needed it. I'm not sure it made much difference. When users ask the same questions that were answered in a thread about a week before then they simply exhibit, imho, a laziness that creates a burden on already-busy modders. I got fed up putting in 70+ hours per week on FATW and then having to almost single-handedly deal with "tech support" too. So, yes, it is a good idea to make very clear instructions. I think we have done that. But maybe some visuals or a video might be worth it - though that's not my responsibility anymore

100% true and agreed.

A lot people seem to think they have ordered and paid for something in this forum.

Though there is the following property, imo.: who offers something owns a kind of responsibility for the offered thing, equal if ordered or paid (in my real life business as consultant i get money for x-times repeated questions and answers of my customer (sometimes) ...

this is the difference, but it belongs doubtfree to the job, annoying or not).

Modders are just crazy (and perhaps silly?) enough to do what they do

... it needs a strong creative motivation and especially time (but i don't know how much money i've not earned in my specific business due to modding all through the night, this is what i mainly mean with "crazy" or just silly? But ... what is money?).

It all has just a fun factor for us, and in my case a big addiction to these damn TW games

(as child i created historical battles with plastic soldiers and warriors ... it must be simply something like "a dream came true with the strategy pc-games in historical frames"

MoN, so we have to thank Tattso for this little philosophical excursion of "the modders life" ...lol

Tattso, this is known as thread hijacking

TW games are very addictive to mod - and ditto for all you said. I went through many years designing boardgames etc. as a hobby. When Time Commanders was aired all my creative desires flared up again

Goodness knows how much money I have lost by modding, too!
