Default New to SS, how do the units stack up against each other?

Specifically all the two-handers that are bugged beyond use in vanilla. Do billmen have an actual use now? What about JHI, is it still unbeatable against any other heavy infantry?

Varies depending on the difficulty level, the unit, a bunch of things. My suggestion is to test it out yourself in Custom Battles, that's what I do anyway. It's damn near impossible for someone to give you a blanket answer, because with the plethora of sub-mods available for SS, there are too many variables.

Well, that sorta brings me to another point. I can't actually see any unique units in custom battles. Does anyone else have this problem? When I do a custom battle say between England and France, all I can see for both factions is the stuff they both get, like Feudal knights and peasants.

I think you are years out of date mate =]

All the 2h's fix were fixed in Patch 1.2 for M2:TW weren't they?

sorry if i am slow but what was the problem with the two handers in the first place?

They animated too slowly. Therefore, units, IE, spear militia, would stab for less damage, but much more frequently. Being hit disrupts the attack animation, I believe. Therefore, 2h-ers were being outdamaged and outdefended, because they sacrifice a shield for more "oomph" per attack.

However, they apparently fixed that in an official patch.

    ...

Ok probably not. I didn't even realize that was an option. I guess I'm so used to my ministrations turning out bugs that I expected this to be another one. Well, that pretty much wraps up this topic, since the only reason I created it was since I couldn't see the units in custom battles.

    Thanks for the help guys.
