Default "Rebel!" lol is this SS? Crazy !@# general

I have never seen a general behave so bizzarely, meet: Giulio Caetani of Genoa.

Giulio was in charge of guarding my capitol of Genoa, one day genoa went ape crazy and rioted, with a low tax rate at 25% order. I was curious why, I checked the chart it told me Unrest so I assumed a spy. The next turn they rebeled and kicked poor guilio out. I set up Guilio in charge of a counter offensive to take back my capitol, but as he sits in wait starving them out...he rebels. I reload the save thinking it was unfair that my general abandoned me. Then I see this lol:

Ive never seen either of these traits "You're NOT my King" and "Rebel!". He HATED me rofl. Is this SS? ive never seen this before. The most bizzare thing is that inside genoa he could barley move, it took him 6 turns to get out of the tiny territory. But once outside he was fine, his loyalty shot back up, infact he's leading a crusade now lol. Something about the city of genoa makes him hate me, whenever he's near it he just gets all pissy.

Youre leader probably picked up the offends nobles trait, in which case all youre generals will either gain traits supporting the Doge or hating him. eventually the ones who hate him will get the you are not my king trait and "rebel". You will regain full control of the general once youre king dies.

THe offends nobles trait can sometimes come if you let too much new blood into youre family (especially adoptions i find), or by continually running the treasury into the ground or sometimes it seems completely random.

The fact that he was fine once leaving genoa is strange though....
Its not the one with youre name on it, its the one addressed to whom this may concern you have to worry about

The Holy Roman Empire's Emperor also starts with this trat, you will find that a low authority faction leade and becoming excommunicatd will also increase the chance of picking up this trait

DLV has this trait as well I think, happens when u didnt crowned a king yet. Anyway since u were able to reload I would just kill him anyway.

I absolutely hate this trait. I kept getting it in a couple Templar Campaigns I did. I think the only way to fix it is to killed all the rebels or just the faciton leader.

I've never heard of any player ever putting bad generals on ships to send them to their death. No. No I have not

"Death ships" is a out-of-character reference to the popular player tactic of putting low loyalty or otherwise undesirable characters (perhaps they wish to make Istvaan their faction leader or something and need to kill off their entire royal line) on a ship and then attacking with it until it sinks, killing off the passengers. In vanilla M2TW the traits file easily produced characters with long lists of negative traits and low loyalty, making them a liability in both governing and fighting. Leaving them to rot on the campaign map could be dangerous as they might go rebel and then you have to deal with a tough rebel bodyguard unit. Thus players would either form 'suicide squads' with them as roving anti-bandit patrols or sentence them to the 'death ships'.
