    Default Trade Rights.

I got a question about trade rights, exactly what do they allow? Is it only so that you can put a merchant in the other factions region? Or does it allow trade/farming to those countries? So what I'm saying is, does trade rights affect your income, or is it just so you can put merchants there? Important or unimportant? I've been going around the whole world with 3-4 diplomats to establish trade rights with every single faction as I've always thought of it as a key to greater income. But now I've started a new save, and I just want to know if it's worth travelling around the world for it.

    Ok I see, thank you.

Why I wondered was cause everytime france has tried moving their merchants into my territories they've always sent a diplomat asking for trade rights, and then sending the merchant in.

I think you do get a boost with merchants if you have trade rights. Not sure, though

Yep trade rights allow higher merchant income and i believe they allow much higher trade between factions. I think you still can trade with a faction without trade rights, just not as effectively

Ok, This is theory I have come up with and it may be true.

If your france, to the East is HRE and Poland, so you want Trade rights with Russia, INDIRECTLY it will increase your income.

Ok say you don't Have trade rights with Poland but you do with HRE, and Poland has trade rights with Russia. Russia will send goods to Poland, increasing their income and productivity, then Send Russian and Poland goods to HRE, therefor increasing their productivitiy, which in Turn increases your income and trade because of Russian, Polish, and Germanic goods.

The Income you recieve might be lower or higher depending on how much goods from each faction reach you.

Ever wonder why Constantinople makes so much trade income? because its connected to all over the world, and is recieving trade from almost EVERY faction in the game, even England and France, even though you do not have direct tradelinks with them, the products still reach you.

Try and get traderights with every faction to increase your trade income!

I usually get trade rights with musslims no matter who I am because I always go and try to take over the holy lands..and I want all the Money I can get..Reason I do it isnt just because the pope calls crusades...though I wait till he does so I can get faster movement to the holy lands..I usually go there though for My main target, Antioch
For some reason Antioch is 1 of the richest cities in the world..well it had money back in the day but it tends to be richer then places like venice or what have you which is kinda odd but still its nice $ to have it

Because its along the Great Silk Road.

And if you're France, and have trade rights with Russia, you still will get teh monies because Novgorod (their starting city) is incridibly rich for a Russian province AND its on the water. There can be trade lanes from Acre to Venice if the same faction / both factions have trade rights by water cause its cheaper and faster to ship goods by water. Then you can take over the world with all your teh monies because you have trade rights with everyone with ports and you'll be incredibly rich and MUHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!
