CTD - Possibly caused by EDU
Right, yeah this same problem has been posted a lot but half of them have just been ignored and the rest are mostly for Rome, so the problem is the same, an 'unspecified error' CTD when loading a new campaign game, I tried a reinstall and the same problem happened, what I am 99% sure is causing this is possibly a typo in the EDU. I may have also had a similar problem before but have completely forgotten how to resolve it. No log is given either...nope just the default line at the bottom noting the Unspecified error.
I was modding the other night and added about 6 or 7 new units, I was at my unit limit as well so i deleted some to leave me with about 498 or 499, but anyway, I doubt that is the problem.
The files i edited were:
-EDU
-EDB
-Export Units
-ui (unit info and unit cards)
I made backups but because everything was working i deleted them but they should still be in my recycle bin. (I get sad when my desktop is not clean so..)
Would greeeaaaatly appreciate any help, I think it is the EDU, because when i replaced it with the old EDU backup it worked.
Custom battles work, I have kingdoms and patched to 1.5, Playing on Retrofit mod with the Grand unit add on mod + some of my own creations which were said above.
So, I await any reply in the near future, until then, cheers.

Re: CTD - Possibly caused by EDU
Why would youi only keep backups on your desktop
... just make a folder called Misc Modding Data/Info in your D: or C: drive or whatever and use that for all backups and info-based text files, tutorials, etc.
And the reason most people probably ignore these threads, is because there's nothing that can be said at current. It's an unspecified error, which means it could very well be in any of those files. the only way to determine if it is because of a recent batch of edits is to run it with the pre-modified files and insure it works. Then the only way for us to help you is to see the error log and potentially the modified files with directions to the portions that have been modified. Other than that, can only speculate.
Cheers,
Augustus
