I was woundering how it would be if I played as The Pope. So far I'm enjoing the experience because the Italian cities have a great wealth income

Although, I'm playing in very hard difficulty and lots of catholics factions have an unbeliveble pleasure in attack me. I've only got the first alliance 100 years after beggin the campaign! But the power of Rome is great and I'v conquerer all the Southern France from the poruguese armies. Sicily as vanished, Milan retreated to North Africa and Venice is now overcoming the Bizantines.

! And I've switched the kings purse because I thoght that Rome was a very important city at the time, so I increased it to 5500 denarii But I'm not cheating at all and my economy is as normal as others.

Now I'd like you to tell me your experiences playing as The Pope!

Very easy to do:
go to your medieval directory, data, world, maps, campaign, imperial_campaign, and its is in the doc. desc_strat.
u just have to look for the faction u want to increase the purse

I tried playing as Papal States once, but it wasn't much fun, because you can't excommunicate people and such, and without the pope there to provide that external influence to wacky M2TW diplomacy on another catholic faction, and emphasize the catholic/muslim split, the flaws of the diplomacy system shine brightly.

The Pope and Rome itself fell to Mighty Egyptian Armies who crossed the medditeranian, landed in sicily, and launched invasions from there!
Rome is now 96% Islamic..im moving all close by Imams to convert it to 99%(idk if you can get 100% in a region, never tried..)

The Moors fell to me(who cares if they are musslim, im da best musslims es)
The Turks fell to me(same thing)
the dumb Caliphate people in Holy Lands Fell to me(same thing)
The byzantines...well hey im playing on Very Hard/ Very Hard..they didnt fall and I couldnt take Constantinople...not yet at least....i was foucusing too much on conquest of Rome and Italy itself
I did take London for the hell of it..long voyage..
