Im trying to make a few units (chivalric, imperial, armored swordsmen) to have there full armor upgrades without the model change, so basically im trying to keep the same model but have the units free to upgrade.

This should be editable in export_descr_units.txt. In each unit entry there's two lines which dictate the model that is used.
armour_ug_levels
armour_ug_models
All you should have to do I believe, is remove all but the first entry in the armour_ug_models line. Then remove all but the last number in armour_ug_levels. I'm not entirely sure about this, but can't check right now, so hopefully someone will confirm or deny(or you can test it and see). From what I can tell the models line dictates which model it uses from the modelsdb, and the levels dictates at what armour level the change is made. Most of the units with only one have 6 as the input for levels, so you might try that. :hmmm:
You shouldn't need to make any changes in the modelsdb, but if you want to clean it of the entries, then search for the unit name and remove any of the entries for _ug1, _ug2 etc. You should look at Alletun's Tome Of Knowledge section about the modelsdb so you know all the lines used in each entry and don't remove parts of the wrong ones.

Glad to hear you got it working but... that shouldn't be the case though:hmmm:. The fact you had to change it in the vanilla files seems to imply that you either have the mod folder ones in the wrong place, so it never read them and went straight to the Vanilla, or that you are missing some files it needs to have them be read in the mod folder. Might want to look into that sort of thing, you shouldn't need to edit any vanilla files if the mod folder is working up to par.
