I play Clouds over Europe MOD but anyways Im playing as England
I marry all my princesses to the French, and all my Faction Heirs get married to French princesses..Half my bloodline is French due to me doing this so much
As so I got extremly extremly strong relations with France..I did this mainly for the fun of it..Though taking French land could be useful, It would be a costly war as France is a strong nation and would therefor result in me having no allies I can count on..I figured France would make a good ally as they are by all my potential enemies..I took out scotland early on and France didnt seem to mind but now Im setting my sights on the Holy Roman Empire, Sweden or Denmark..And about my French Family Members that I have..they have titles that say they are my kings right hand man..and wouldnt doubt it..my french family members are about the best around..Like 1 has the retinue Duke of Normandy...and is known to be my Kings Right Hand Man..So marrying the French and stuff has some fun role playing perspectives

So im wondering..Is it smart to ally with France or should I have just fought a long war with them?
Im playing on Very Hard/Very Hard difficulty

Also i should mention my princesses get me a few free french family members that I love to have whenever I can Any 1 who can govern a city is good in my book

I would say it would be best to have allies but only if you know they will support you. Obviously since half the family is French you will have the majority of the French on your side so A wat could exhaust your population, you could lose cities and could lose your checkbook!

I ment half my Family Members are French..hell I have this 1 french chick that pops out babies with my prince every 2 years..so far they have frigging 6 kids..5 girls 1 boy.....the girls should turn out to be good princesses cuz their mom is a french princess that had lots of charm..and since Clouds over Europe has Blood Broads and Basterds mod in it..the princesses should come out good like their mom...unfortunatly I have other family members who only have 1-2 kids....and id rather have 6 boys then 1 boy 5 girls o well

i would use france as a buffer from HRE and other european factions. either tackle spain/port. region or go for denmark. i would try to stay off the toes of france and hope ur bloodline stays strong, seeing how france and england never liked each other.

I love hitting Denmark first. As England I just put them in the ships and sent them to Arhus and sacked it because they have precious few units early on there.

why? We are good allies..and I didnt even know there where vassals in the game without using a specific mod..guess i never looked really.

And to answer the one guys suggestion..Ya France as a buffer is what I think ill keep doing..And its fun to have France as ally cuz ya in real life they hated each other...and my relations with France in game though are as strong as they can be we got millitary access trade rights and all..and we have shared in a few phony wars together, against egypt(crusading)..got crushed though, didnt have the men or $ to crusade efficently cuz I was busy with other things
