    Default interesting problem

First off I'll list my P.c info

    1st P.c. Dell dimen 3000
    2.66gh 2g DDR Nvidia gf6200 256mb DDR2 Pci
P.c. does not have Pcie which really sucks.

    2nd p.c Dell Dimen 8100
    1.79 gh 1g Rdram nvidia gf4100 128mb Agp

So anywho I just bought the Nvidia 6200 to play games on my 3000. Currently I have Battlefield 2, Rome t.w. and WOW

    Battlefield Requirements
    # Minimum Specification:
    CPU: 1.7 Ghz
    RAM: 512 Mb
Video Card: NVidia GeForce FX 5700, ATI Radeon 8500 or ATI Radeon 9500
    with 128 Mb of RAM

    # Recommended Specification:
    CPU: 2.4 Ghz
    RAM: 1 Gb
Video Card with at least 256 Mb of RAM

    Rome requirements
    System Requirements
English version of Microsoft Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP
Pentium III 1.0GHz (1000MHz) or Athlon 1.0GHz (1000MHz) processor or higher
    256MB RAM
8x Speed CD-ROM drive (1200KB/sec sustained transfer rate) and latest drivers
300MB of uncompressed free hard disk space
100% DirectX 9.0b compatible 16-bit sound card and latest drivers
    * 100% Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP compatible mouse, keyboard and latest drivers
DirectX 9.0b 3D hardware Accelerator Card Required - 100% DirectX 9.0b compatible 64MB Hardware Accelerated video card and the latest drivers:
    ATI Radeon 7200
    ATI Radeon 8500
    ATI Radeon 9000
    ATI Radeon 9500
    ATI Radeon 9600
    ATI Radeon 9700
    ATI Radeon 9800
All Nvidia GeForce 2 and higher

    Wow requirements.
    * Intel Pentium® III 800 MHz or AMD Athlon 800 MHz
    * 512 MB or more of RAM
    * 32 MB 3D graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting, such as NVIDIA® GeForce™ 2 class card or above
    * DirectX® 9.0c (included) and latest video drivers
    * 6.0 GB available HD space
    * 4x CD-ROM drive
    * A 56k or better Internet connection

As you can see I meet or exceed these requirements. Now my problem is this...
I can play battlefield 2 on my 3000 with all graphic settings on high no problems at all. yet when I try Rome or WOW on my 3000 they lags horribly. Which makes no sense considering BF2 requires alot o fmy comp then wow or rome. if I lower the resolution it gets a little better but still lags pretty bad. Yet I can turn around and play these games on my chittier p.c with no problems at all at max resolution except BF2. So I'm a little lost here I've downloaded all the current drivers for both video cards. Could My problem be that Rome and WOW are having problems with the Pci card. I mean you would think they would put that within the minimum requirements wouldn't you.

Agp will beat pci anyday. I thought Dell gave up on agp slots 3 or 4 years ago. Neither one are friends of 3d graphics. Some of the Rome mods have skins that are more colorful and use up more 3d resources and gives more lag. With Empire on the way, have you considered upgrading?

yes I have I'am currently building one slowly but surely due to money issues but I'll will have a very nice one around dec. Yet until then I'd still like to enjoy Rome on my 24inch instead of this 15 which now houses my crappier p.c the 1.7gh. the 1.7. use to house the 24 yet when I got the stronger p.c. I hooked it up too the 24 cause I tought I'd be able to play rome and it's just so much better on a big monitor.
