Error: File name doesnt exist , RTR 6.2

Hey i reinstalled 1.0 rtw , then 1.2 and then 6.0 RTR and 6.2 like instructed but when i go to the game it stops at the first screen and if u press left mouse button an error comes up saying : Error: File name doesnt exist : eÖa? and a box <.< the e has something on it and a has a wave on it :S any help plz? <.<

I would say reinstall everything. Something is missing whether it be RTW or RTR.

First of all welcome to the forums. Please ignore irishron's post (he's wrong for once).

It's a standard message that is returned when you try and play a mod that requires RTW patched to 1.2 when you've got a later version of RTW installed. Check out this thread: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=117675

If you are unsure of which version of RTW you have installed launch the game and look at the number on the top right hand corner of the options menu. The fact that you got this message could mean that when you uninstalled before you didn't do so correctly. You need to install RTR PE which uses either RTW 1.5 or RTW 1.5/RTW BI 1.6 install. See this thread: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=197

The latest version of RTR based on the RTW 1.2 game engine is RTW 6 Gold - the instructions don'tmention installing 6.0 RTR before 6.2 - you may have found a rogue site. The real site for that is: http://www.rometotalrealism.org/download6.html

That given the fact I haven't played RTR since version 4 came out and I didn't like the direction it was going.
