Need help (Brittania, Playing as Scotland, England is too weak)

Hi all. I'm playing as Scotland in Brittania Vanilla. My problem is that the english are too weak (although I play Very hard/Very Hard). They get beaten pretty bad by wales and the baron's alliance every game I play, and naturally I don't want it like that.

I want the english to be the biggest country in britain, and I want them to launch attack after attack into scottish territory, so that my country can be saved by crazy scots from the highlands. The problem is that doesn't happen, I always have to attack the english, and when I do they're weak and no match for my army. What to do? I want my scottish faction to be outnumbered in the struggle against the english empire, but as it is now the situation is the opposite. Is there a mod that fixes the lacj of balance?

Are you patched to 1.5? If you want to make England more powerful, then do this at the beginning of every turn: bring up the cheat console (~ key on most keyboards) and type this in:

add_money england 50000

giving 50,000 florins to England.

No, my version is 1.03, or so it says. I can't seem to get that ~ to work.

Try the key beneath the Escape key. Also, 1.03 is the version of the game that you have for the original Medieval II. Start up the Britannia campaign, go to the Options menu, and look in the upper left corner of the screen. You should see either 1.04 or 1.05.

Problem solved. I have the gold edition and it's already patched. Also my keyboard is swedish and I found out that the ö button activated the console. thanks for your help.

another thing you can do to help england is early-on ally with them and destroy wales, while gifting them to the english. then when england inevitably backstabs you, it will be nice and strong on the mainland

They'll probably still suffer the Baron's Alliance though...

Maybe you could give them a load of starting money and a few stacks?

Restrict your armies. Do it in true highland style and say they don't get into the army unless they're wearing a kilt. none of this 'plate armour' or 'noble swordsmen' rubbish.

I find that giving urself a lot of money w/ cheats and then giving it to the target faction via diplomacy works very well
