Weakest faction you played

Personally I find the Gauls a pethetic faction only worth choosing if u want the challenge. It took me a miricale to complete their campaign.Their warbands are worthless, Cavarly is weak, chosen warriers average. but just to be fair their foresters are pretty strong but that doesntsave the gauls from being worst faction. So what do you think the worst faction is?

A miracle? The Gaul campaign is one of the easiest I've played, other than Rome's. They have Good cav in there Nobles, they get Forrestors, the best archers in the game, which if you spam with archery upgrades from there temples can be at ridiculously high missile attack from green recruits and enemy lines shouldn't even reach you if used properly. Plus, your in a position to wipe out the strongest factions in the game when there weak, at games start. Chosen Swordsmen aren't even necessary too finish the campaign, but are nice to complement the Forrestors.

And the contest for the worst faction (SP-wise), is fairly limited. The only two factions really worthy of the award are Numidia and Spain, I don't remember Numidia's roster much, but Spain's absolutely sucked, CA pretty much ignored them, Bull Warriors is the only decent unit you just spam them and you can win easy. But Numidia gets Camels and Legionnaires... Close call, but Numidia's starting is worse because they face bankruptcy, a spread out homeland, Egypt right beside them to kill them, and Carthage and later Rome to deal with in Africa.

By the way just to be clear my miricale was finishing off the Romans at begining of campaign.but to make the question clear, whats do u think is the worst faction to choose in a multiplayer game?

In campaign I vote for Numidia. Their starting position makes you cry.
For multiplayer I would say Spain. No good spearman, bull warriors are good but too expensive, no archers, don't even mention cavalry.
Numidia actually has a decent roster which can do wonders in multiplayer.

Parthians have horse archers and cataphracts!!!

For me, I believe that there is no faction that is weakest or strongest. Each has advantages and disadvantages. Each has challenges to play and each has its easy parts. It's just a matter of which a faction has more of, the good or the bad. But if blatantly asked, I'd go Dacia. Surrounded on all sides by factions, and average troops as well.

Dacia for me as well. They get massacred from a distance, their assault troops the Falxmen don't have armour, they don't have good heavy cavalry, they don't have good archers. Their position sucks, they don't have money etc etc etc.

In MP, Spain are the worst for me, for the reasons Al Merko said. Dacia is good because they get HA's, its funny when an opponent goes in expecting a barbarian melee army, and they get owned by HA's..

Germania is the worst eco and population wise but they get ridiculously strong later. their phalanx spear war bands Gothic cav and chosen axes crushed stuff. i love using screeching women too. You just have to live long enough to get cities with decent pop.

Gaul is the worst for me they are no match for Rome. i don't like Carthage either they are horribly weak early on.

What Iberian infantry town millita and peasants? yay! They really work well when the scpii come knocking. Cant forget their aggressively useless Round Shield cav either. Or their Long Shield "heavy" cavalry which actually gets owned by just about every other one.

Germania!! I found Germania the easiest campaign after the Roman ones. Sure they have issues when it comes to population. but their initial cavalry is fine compared to their neighbors. Anyway once you get ur first big city, work to get berserkers. Now these are awsome soldiers even if they're hard to control. After that life becomes easy and even the Romans fall quickly under your berserk hords.

Carthage's early infantry is nothing to speak of, but Round and Long Shields will give a good account of themselves, and once you get to their 3rd lvl. infantry you're good to go. Of course, no faction is a match for Rome just going by unit roster + stats.

I agree with you, Numidia is easily one of the hardest, they dont really get any sort of excellent unit, and their starting territories are pretty sad. Spain is also pretty bad, and just plain boring to play since all youll do near the end is get masses of bull warriors. Armenia can also be a pain in the beginning, but if you play your cards right then its fine after you get better units.

Tho I've never played them I'm sure parthia/pontus are touch to play as they have hopelessy terrible infantry and siegeing would be impossible. You'd have to wait out every city at least till you got orgaers

parthia is too easy. the cavalry is frickin insane. stoppable only by spartan hoplites, ballistas, and the tower from the wall

Yeah but first you have to take the walls to let your cav in. It would take forever to wait for every place to fall or sally probably getting attacked in the mean time. and getting sieged wouldn't be fun either as your hopeless infantry couldn't do a thing to keep the enemy out.

Also a hoplite phalanx or better will stop any cavalry if they keep them at pike distance. millita pikes are too short.
