    Default Issues with RS1.5b

Issues with oddball look of the strat map, if you had installed the new environment, are probably from a mixture of the two. Re-install the new environment. There were a number of changes I included to the map in that environmental install ONLY...maybe something got overwritten.

As to why 'map_features.tga' got changed, I am clueless. There were no problems with it before that I was aware of, and I made no changes to it before I turned the patch over to Squid.

I made changes to map_features.tga, I added a couple of extra fords/bridges in remote areas to try and help movement, I'm not sure why everything else shifted.

'Shifted' is the right word, it's almost like the whole map_features got moved over a pixel in one direction so it no longer 'lines up' with map_heights -- very strange, I have no idea what would do that...

    Mice, anyone?

I'm wondering if I might have hit an arrow key with the wrong tool selected in PS or something. I can put the old one up in a hotfix, that should get rid of the problem . . . is it major enough that it needs fixing or can it be left?

I don't know how bad it is on a clean install, but the rivers not actually flowing to the sea is, as far as I'm concerned, a major problem, as is the random patches of non-snow in winter. It just looks sloppy.

Is there a fix in the works for the incomplete rivers? We could just put back the original file from the previous version?

There is a fix in the works, but unfortunately work has become a large factor the last week or so, so it will be a little bit before I can get the fix out. I'll also fix any other outstanding bugs from the bug thread at the same time.

Squid, just a thought before I forget again. The problem with the Legion missing from Propontis is that one of the Legions (the one that's supposed to be there) is COMPLETELY missing from EDB.txt.
I think it's one of the 'Flavia's. I accidently found it when I was working on them in RS2.

One thing I've notice, which regions were supposed to have the rom hidden resource? Currently no regions have it in descr_regions, and there are 56 recruitment/capability lines that use the hidden resource.

I don't recall ever using that, and if there were a number of them in EDB.TXT, and none in descr_regions.txt, you would get an error when regenerating the map.???? Or not??

It's a hidden resource, so it's listed at the top of EDB, but none of the regions actually use it, and I always thought you didn't need to use a hidden resource if you didn't want to. I'm thinking maybe it was replaced by home as a hidden resource.

I also noticed while I was sorting units for Lt1956 that there appear to be one or two missing sprites for a couple of units - I think it was the Carthaginians.

I'll have a look at the sprites, and that should hopefully be everything before I can release it.

Every unit for which carthage has a texture line has a sprite line for carthage as well. Do you mean for 1.5b, or for 2.0, because I'm not not sure what lt1956 would have to do with or care about the units from 1.5?

I mean a sprite line that has no matching sprite file - I think it was the carthaginian royal cav

Because we were going to give him some for SPQR in return for helping with RS2.
