    Hello,
I've got installing problems with your promising mod...

...I tried to do it like the following instructions...

    "Download:
    1. metw_0.99c.exe

    Install:
    1. Create a folder in your bi directory called metw. Copy all the contents of the bi folder to the metw folder.
    2. Run the .exe which you downloaded above."

In which folder do I have to browse the .exe...?...maybe I installed it in the wrong path...
...and I don't know how to make a new shortcut...?
Can you help...or will there be version which can easier be installed...?

    Cheers

As Aradan said this is now v1.00 (still beta though). I think the install is similar though.

The install path works on the logic that if you didn't change the install directory when you installed Rome - Total War you dont need to change the install directory now. This also means if you changed your install path for Rome you should also be able to change the path for METW. By default it installs to the default Rome - Total War directory (c:\program files\Activision\Rome - Total War\)

You should be able to copy the shortcut from within the folder (says "METW" in yellow letters) to your desktop - note if you had to change the install path for the mod then you will need to change the "target" and "start in" lines in the shortcut's properties. Otherwise (means you dont need to fiddle with the target and start in lines) copy the bi shortcut, right click and select properties. In the target line, outside of the quotation marks, add
    Code:
    -mod:bi\metw -nm

    Thanks for quick response!

Unfortunately, I still don't know how to change the properties of the yellow metw.ico...
...my install path would be D:\spiele\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\
    ...
...and my win word opens when I click on this icon... :hmmm:

    EDIT: The properties of the metw.ico tell me > D:\spiele\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\BI\metw < ...
...that should be o.k., shouldn't it...? But it doesn't work...I'm such a noob...

Thanks, Aradan and Thor...+rep...the thing is that I don't know which programm I have to use to change the properties of the metw.icon...
...but don't worry about this icon-thing, hopefully, I can wait until the installer works for noobs in the full release...

Right click and go down to properties and a dialogue should pop up.

[Sorry I'm utterly sure this is the upshot of me having made about 3 installers in my life]

    Thanks again, Thor...
...I know the right click thing...but it's a miracle to me how to change the path of the metw.ico (1.0exe)...

The edit box where the path exists can be edited, so just copy the path from your browser and put it there. But, I think, if you install it properly, the path will be ok without you doing anything.

I dont think so - the installer looks for program files and then navigates to the default install path but Viking has his in his game folder d:\spiele\... so it wont find a program files folder. I think what you're supposed to do is get the installer to check the registry for the Rome total war folder but I dont quite know how to do that.

Maybe I should try to make clean reinstall of RomeTW in a different folder... :hmmm:

there seems to be a problem in the campaign mod, i currently started with Rohan, when starting a siege combat myself the rams seems useless, i cannot attack the walls with them, i don't know if it's only one type of wall, but it's realy annoying that i have no choice but to rely on the automatic resolve.

'Jericho' in the command bar = deletes sections of walls... use that to deal with it for now.
