I'm playing Vh/Vh as the danish on teutonics, and I have two problems:

I'm fighting the HRE right now, and the AI is loading up his army with siege and imperial knights. Unfortunately the danish is the weakest in cavalry and spear unit which mean I'm having a hard time.

However, I've been doing well until the black death hit my all cities and to my horror I found out the HRE is somehow not affected. Now my forces are grounded and trade dropped due to the constant attrition from the plague and now the HRE is taking the advantage and bend on killing me.

get a spy infected, send it into hre's cities/castles

Don't just send one spy. Send a half dozen. I once managed to lower a nation's population by 20000 or so just by spreading the plague. Just remember not to attack the HRE's cities until the plague has passed...

yes but they certainly don't feel like waiting.

Oh and when does the plague come? I've never had it yet. (Maybe because my people wash their hands!)

I think the black death comes in the mid 1300s, not too sure. I don't know how the Germans aren't affected, as it affected EVERYONE from Baghdad to Ireland in around 10 turns. I always found it was almost like a mutual ceasefire across the world as everyone recovered from the economic mess
