    Icon9 GRAPHICS CARDS??

OK im in the process of buying a new computer, reason being is that mine has just died completely and secondly I would like to play medieval 2 on very high settings.

Im really unsure about which graphics card to buy though, Im hoping you guys can help.

    Its either: ATI Radeon 3870X2
    OR: Nvidia 9800 GX2.

I basically need to know which one will be better for medieval 2.

    Please help.

I can play on optimum graphics with a Radeon 3800 Series with no problems. But I wouldn't recommend that card as their seems to be a compatibility issue with direct x and medieval 2 specifically, however. I would recommend any latest Nvidia card even though I have never used one - and i won't be buying another ATI product...

An even better option would be to check out the PC buyers guide if you havn't already, here is the link.

I can play all the way up just fine with an 8800GT , It's much cheaper than most cards now and packs a nice punch.

LOL... Oooops. Other people on this forum including an administrator have recommended the ATI 4870.... so thats what I bought... uuhhhmmm....

Thank you for the link Ive already checked it though, seems to be a bit outdated unfortunately. I know the 8800 cards are good and now that I seem to have fixed this computer I may be tempted to buy one when the price comes down a little more... for the moment I'm hoping the new system I ordered will be Nice!
