Default Campaign to See to the End?

I'm having a problem finishing a campaign in M2:TW. I'll get to a certain turn, look at my nation and lose a desire to continue forward. I'm trying to find a nation I can play through from Turn 1 (early era) to turn (286?). Any suggestions for a fun nation that facilitates these goals, I'd appreciate deeply.

Maybe the Eastern Roman Empire since they own the middle of the known map from the start and should be easy to expand wherever you want

All nations become boring when they get too big. It isn't a faction problem but a size problem.

I'm beginning new campaigns all the time

That's why you should try Banzai's AOR mod you'll(same goes to the enemy) be able to colonize your former enemies and recruit their units.

i would say byz or england are good choices as they are both factions which i can justify controlling most of the world, entablishing the british empire and rebuilding the roman one. but ya, i generally stop after a while because either no one can stand up to me or it is just to much work and the game doesnt progress as fast as it does earlier on because i have so much to do.

As said, it's not a faction problem. Although you're of course working towards expanding your borders, it's not all that great to rule a vast empire, since it involves a lot of micromanagement. You'd like to become big, you don't wanna be big. A way to do this is to consolidate a war early instead of blitzing your neighbours.

Well I am only a couple of turns from the absolute game ending (won the LC dozens of turns ago). It's all a bit of a yawn now actually. I just like watching my endless monster stacks crushing all before them .

i think the solution to this would be that once you reach a certain size the game starts to put some serious penalties on you that force you to worry less about enemies and more about keeping the empire together, things like civil wars should be your main problem. But this would still mean a LOT of micromanagment, but if there is actually a threat it would be okay, plus, i would thinki it very fun to see my great empire fall to peaces a la Roman Empires. then I would be able to start all over!
