    Default Mongols and Buraydah

    Hello All,

I really enjoy playing BC. It's the only way I play Total War now. I think its great what you guys were capable of doing with this game and making it so much fun and being historically accurate as well.

But I did have one question. Actually, 2.

First, when do the Mongols arrive in the game? At what year I mean.

And secondly, why is it that I cannot seem to invade Buraydah in the middle of the Arabian peninsula? Is it inaccessible or is there something I need to get there?

hi mongols arrive aprox. in 1219 and buraydah and several other desert places are inaccessible to demonstrate the harsh nature of the desert (would be hard to get an army through alive)

i think a better approach from a game design perspective to inaccessible settlements would be to make a general trait that is extremely rare that allows some generals to guide their armies through thick deserts
also, you could maybe apply an attrition rate like when your men abandon a crusade and you could even make the general's movements go half or 2/3s slower then on regular terrain
