    Default jihad/crusade 8 unit minimum mod-able?

    seemingly simple question, but i cant find the answer through search.

    is there a way to increase the minimum number of units needed to join a crusade/jihad?

    I don't believe there is, I had a look through the files to try and find an answer to this. In descr_missions.txt the parameters for a crusade are determined, but none of them seem to affect the requisite units needed to join. These lines however are curious:

    Code:
        leader_pfp_boundary -0.4		; upper bound for leader required to join
        heir_pfp_boundary 	-0.1		; upper bound for heir required to join
    But the commented out text seems to state, and what I know of crusades/jihads seems to affirm, that this mission is not suitable for variants, so it can't be changed since something in the hardcode uses it.

    After looking in export_descr_guilds.txt I found this:

    The line "WhenToTest GeneralJoinCrusade" explains that the name of the condition of joining a crusade seems to be internally called "GeneralJoinCrusade".

    Since the variable GeneralJoinCrusade can't be found in the vanilla files descr_events.txt or campaign_script.txt, it is probably dictated by the hardcode, which is why you can't make variable changes to the mission.

    That's my assessment, could be wrong, don't think I am in the conclusion, but perhaps in the way I reached it.

    much obliged for looking - the reason for the question is somewhat obvious, AI sending 1/2 stack's to crusade/jihad targets, i also went through the files a bit, but alas im more of a copy/paste type modder then anything.

    In quite a few cases the AI 'stocks' up those initial half stacks with 'crusade mercenaries'. It obviously depends if someone beats him to it. The AI suffers desertions as well, especially the Italian factions when they first have to go North past Venice.

    Aye, ive already looked at lessening the desertion aspects - but i'd like to avoid just adding more crusade merc's to fill up the ranks as the stacks then are a bit lacking in the variety department. - then again, id also like world peace and a free lifetime supply of "Better Made" red hot potato chips too.

    ah well, one can dream.
