Hey there I'm currently writing a exhaustive rtw unit guide having been inspired by frogbeateggs great unit guide for mtw1.

And in battles, you can view your own units' unit info by double left clicking on their unit cards when paused.

No I'm trying to find a way to do it without having to read it in rtw as it would take forever to alt tab back about every single unit. frog beast egg had attack and defence status for units when that info wasn't even in the game. So she must have had a way to see the raw unit data. isn't there a way to do it in rtw too? Thanks. Till now tho I've been doing juist that starting custom battles and recording all the armour etc values.

Right click on a recruitment building, then right- click on one of the names of troops in the list.


Back on topic: I don't think this is possible, but I've never tried before.

Try using EDU or just alt-tabbing, you will get it sooner or later.

You can find all the neccesary data in the data folder, probably in one of the campaign files. You would need to search faction files for info.

You sure learn thigs doing this i never relized how powerful forester warbands are. When i finish my Seleucid campaign the gauls will be next. They even beat pharaohs bowmen. ITs somewhat hard to test the units im not sure about however as the ai is incredibly stupid about sloooooowly marching missile units around getting showered by missiles without firing back.

I'm getting there after 8 hours of writing I've got the Spears Swordsmen Archers, Skirmishers and Legions unit categories finshed and general tactics started started for each class of unit.

EDIT: Well, this wasn't the one I was thinking of, but it is useful in that it shows each units stats, attributes (like 'good morale', 'can sap' etc.) and description plus a picture of their unit card, without going un-game. Hey thanks that's great I can use that to write out the framework and get all the units in before doing all the testing and writing it will be easier when the skeleton of the guide is in place to start adding stuff! Too bad I cant click to enlarge the unit cards then I could see all the status easily.

Go to export.descr.unit in the RTWata folder, all stats for every unit and mercenary in the game is there.

You could get the free version of Fraps, take screenies of the info that you need ingame all in one shot, and then refer back to these as you write your guide.

Yes I'm using print screen now i have no idea why i didn't think of that i just paste it into paint and refer to it.

Just wanted to post saying the guide just broke 10,000 words and I haven t even nearly finished the main rtw part yet. I still need to put in BI and ALX

Hey in another few days I'll be finished the RTW part of the guide (well finished as in beta and probably still rough) and was looking for somebody with a equal knowledge of the campaign game to proofread and point out any problems or unclear parts of the guide. Anyone here interested? Another pair of eyes might see things in a different way to what i see them and spot mistakes. Or would it be better to upload it somewhere post a link here and let everyone look for problems? its very rough still just the text no fonts pdf format or anything snazzy yet. I was getting the framework up before starting the bits like that.
