    Default Youngest Pope ever?

Well I do not have a very young Pope, but let's say I could.
After a papal election (one of my cardinals became Pope) I looked at the cardinals and was very surprised to see him:

Not only is he a very young cardinal, but also one of the preferati!

That made me courious: how old was your youngest pope or preferatus?

I've had a pope installed at 41, but only after assasinating the previous.

i once had a 21 year old cardinal, when i "built" him he had full natural priest skill, secretly female, and orthodox instruction making him eligible for being a cardinal which he became two turns later when some of the older cardinals died of old age.

I had him chasing heretics around the map and he soon became a 9 piety preferati which got elected to become pope at age 29. its a shame i had to assassinate him later on as he excommed me for declaring war on poland (i was playing hungary).
Its not the one with youre name on it, its the one addressed to whom this may concern you have to worry about

I had a similar situation when as Sicily i had a Master Theologians Guild in Rome and i trainned a priest who became a bishop due to the high level church, then on the same turn he becomes a cardinal, and then on the same turn he became the pope (i had assassinated pope last turn).

(I did only know he became a cardinal then pope on the same turn because of anouncement)

I think he has 28 when it happened, i will try to find screenie

I've had young Pope's before. Just kinda sucks that you cant do whatever you want like attack catholic factions without losing favor even though they are your Pope. You should get immunity!

Youngest Pope in my game was 46. All the others were much older. Its a disadvantage sometimes if the Pope is too young, especially if he is against you and is causing you problems.

well, in my first campaign, i had like 3 8+ subterfuge assassins constantly assassinating the pope so i could get reconcilation. But i didnt know thatyou cant get that if you are at war. So i just kept on assassinating them until the college of carfinals was pretty much empty. Even when all my cardinals got elected, i just assassinating them thinking that one day ill get reconciled.

I think the last cardinal was 38 beforehe got killed

But isn't it still hard to assassinate him? After all he's a faction leader...

Few turns later now, and I've got a 28 years old cardinal with 7 piety. I'll let him chase some heretics, so maybe he'll become a preferati.

I'd just have to get rid of the current pope, and I don't want to lose reputation. And I won't get reconciled if I'm at war with the papal?

But yeah, it can suck to have the same pope for a very long time.

Edit: Bacon! has taken the lead^^

I had a 27 year-old Pope. When you have Theologians HQ + cathedral priests spawn with 5+ piety, all ready for the cardinalate. This priest was made cardinal the same turn he spawned, and there was an election the next turn...

you actaully recruit bishops instead of priests, usually which comes along with some retinue (nun or mong mostly)

i try not to have young popes because then it would take forever to get reconciled, thats why i vote old popes which are about to die always

Just like the elephant animation, this Carthage scenario is actually in the game, it just has a small percantage factor for showing up, that's all...
