every since 1.2 i've had problems

ok so i just downloaded patch 1.2 for medieval 2 vanilla and ever since i did i've had a host of problems

the game screens (not in battles) are freezing and i have to ctrl + alt + delete out and get back in to unfreeze. also, my controls have been really screwed up (hotkeys arent working, cant shift click, etc)

WHAT IS GOING ON? :o *goes back to trying to figure out how to fix this*

its suggested to reinstall before applying the patch so try that.

Reinstalling from scratch is your only chance. If it does it, again, it maybe a bad download. Download and reinstall, again. 1.2 update is very finicky.

make sure its truly finished too 1.2 takes rather a long time to patch.

Hi... I posted somewhere else but here is ok to (no response to my post earlier)

I have the M2:TW German Edition and i downloaded and Installed the German 1.1v. So I downloaded the 1.2v file named "miitw_update2_efigs_rc_final" with size 613 MB. So I launch the patch, to install it, and by the prossess the install says: "Error: Unvalid or Missing file in C:\Program Files\Sega\Medieval\data\sound\voice1.dat". I looked up for the file and it is in the folder so that means its not missing... I reinstalled the game but the same error comes up. Any Help? Any Ideas?
I have the German Medieval 2: Total War Collectors Edition.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but since you have the Collectors Edition, have you looked on the disc to see if maybe Sega included it? I know nothing of the German version so I'm taking a guess.

If you have the gold edition it contains both the 1.2 patch and the kingdoms patch already so you don't need to do anything.

No... If I had Gold I would not have problems... I have the Collectors Editions and when I install it I have the Game originaly in 1.0 version. Then I must Download and Install the 1.1 Patch. Is there a way to change the language of the game?
