    Default easiest faction?

Out of curiosity, what faction do you think is the easiest faction to play, i.e. if your life depended on it and you had to win a vh/vh no cheat campaign, who would you choose?

To me the hardest would for sure be Templars or Jerusalem, but if I had to bet my life I would take a HRE EE start. Every time I have played that campaign I get bored by turn 50, where I am #1 on every category and its too easy...

It doenst matter wich faction u play on VH/VH they are all too easy to play with not to make anyone pissed but lusted made the CAI way too passive an friendly all u gotta do its just make alot of alliances an maybe have a few men in your city´s an garrisons... How ever i havent tried hes recent CAI its in the sub mod folder somewhere you might wanna check that out first he said that he had made it more agressive so its worth a try

They are until the Muslims, your most trusted allies call a Jihad on Constantinople. Grant it, it was sort of my own undoing it was fun to try and be really peaceful with them while I could. The defense of the city itself is easily handled with the balista towers and everything. It just starts getting difficult when you are consistently having cities under siege every single turn! And I'm running RR so no sexy Byzantine infantry just lame spear militia with leather armor upgrade cap

You lose so much trade revenue once you go to war with Turkey and Egypt. And the Pope hasn't called a single crusade to a Muslim controlled town

Makes it fun gonna push through it.

England. Scotland puts all its troops on a boat and sends them to Bruges / Antwerp. Sink it on the way and Scotlands undefended. Ireland isn't really much competition. Kill those and you have 12 provinces from Britain, plus Normandy and any other gains you get get in France. That and your roster is amazing.

England. Scotland can give you a scare early if you are careless but other than that, no great threats. Sit back and expand.

i would say england too, with BGR, byzantium becomes really hard as since youre one of the top factions from the start youre faction zeal and recruiting privileges go through the floor within the first few turns meaning you can find it really hard to produce a decent army.
Its not the one with youre name on it, its the one addressed to whom this may concern you have to worry about

I'd have to say England as well

If you want an islamic faction, then both Egypt and the Moors are easy

Spain is a very easy faction, 10 turns in and im already the wealthiest nation. Moors are easy to conquer too, but you have to be quick.

In my (not very extensive) experience with SS, I find the Moors a very hard challenge no matter which Iberic faction I choose (although Spain is easier than the others). I've seen them take on all three iberians (me one of them ), plus Sicily simultaneously, and beat the stuff out of all of us.

The Moors are a step ladder as long as you send someone right away to Pope and get a crusade against Granada or Cordoba. You can basically go take out 3-4 cities with stacks that pay no maintenence and get chivalry up the wazoo. You claim all pennisula, have a few boats close bridge, leaave those stacks sitting on your neighbors front doors and when Crusade ends you take out weakest Iberian neighbor and you are basically set.

if you are playing with Bygs trait/supply system, then kingdom of aragon is your best, easiest bet.
its small to start with, but that brings expansion advantages via bygs system, which means you get a broader recruitment base. taking surrounding rebel villages, then moving on to palma will give you a concrete platform to expand in any, or if you got the skill+economy, all directions.

Most definitely England. If you can pacify the island, you're in the clear.

Byzantines (or The Eastern Roman Empire, as I've renamed them), dont have too many challenges. You just have to make sure to either obliterate Turks immediately or not attack them, or they will declare a Jihad on Constantinople and you're scrwed.

Also, 6.2 makes it very easy. In my campaign, there was no war in Western Europe AT ALL. Every nation has an average of 7-8 alliances, no catholic faction is at war with each other. The only war in Western Europe was me vs. Venice.
I envision a GREEN world! One conquered by Milan, of course.

the reason that england is so easy is the fact that france doesn't have the thing perfere's naval invasions in desc_strat so france will mostly likely not go to anther big land mass or build a navy.
