Default [NOOB QUESTION] How do i launch a mod?(how to create a functioning bat file)

Hello fellow mtw2 playing people, i once had this problem before(like 1 year ago) and used the forum to solve it, now once again i have been caught by the beauty of Mtw2 and want to play mods again but i cannot figure out how to launch the mod using a batch file. I dont understand the concept at all. Ive been looking and searching for hours today with no luck so this is my last desperate attempt for a solution for this problem.

I hope any of you can give me an explanation of how i create a bat file and play my mod(stainlesssteel 6). So far what ive done is created a text file and written "medieval2.exe --io.file_first" inside it and then launched it after making it a bat. But once ingame i see nothing from the mod(units, blood effects etc.) What am i doing wrong here?

What you should really do is use the shortcut that came with the mod. It is on your desktop. Failing that, you can use the batch file included with Stainless Steel - in the Medieval II Total War/mods/Stainless_Steel_6 directory. It is called Stainless_Steel_Kingdoms.bat. However, if you want to make your own batch file, here is how:
    The first line should be

    cd ..\..
Then the next line should point to the mod's config file, after telling the game to start either medieval2 or kingdoms. For example, if the mod ran through kingdoms and was called MyMod, then I would do this:

kingdoms.exe @mods\MyMod\MyMod.cfg (or wherever the mod's config file is)

The final batch file should end up looking like this:

    cd ..\..
    kingdoms.exe @mods\MyMod\MyMod.cfg

    Good luck!
