Romano British
I'm posting a topic here on the Romano British. So much controversy seems to follow this faction, and more so it appears than any other faction in the game. I thought with such an interest or such a non interest for them has evolved, to create this thread with some historical information regarding them and to put in my own conclusions.
How much relevance should the Romano British have in such a game as BI Invasion?
-First of all most BI mods are different in regards to the type of map displayed in the mod. Some Mods may have more of an emphasis on the Eastern portions of the Empire. This would certainly have an impact on the smaller Western Factions as to say for instance the Suebi Romano British or the Alans who migrated to Spain with the Vandals.
-Another issue is how significant where they in the Western European world? Where they nothing more than a barbarian people once again with no central authority, just fragmented into different smaller kingdoms under petty kings not worthy of a faction status? Where they able to centralize under the authority of a strong ruler or rulers. How long long and to what extent were did the Romano British power extend to? Did it encompass not only most of Britain but also a large area of Gaul that linked up to the Roman enclave of what was Aetius strong hold?
The thread will be open for others to interject info with some sort of historical reference. This will be a thread that will not tolerate any sort of flaming or personal attack on another's opinion. Its quite simple, if you disagree, attack the argument not the person.
