[RS AAR] EPRIUS IMMORTAL!

this is my first AAR so it might not be that good.
(im using the roma surrectum mod)

Chapter 1:the roman war
things were starting to look good.
tarrentium had finaly been secured after months off bloody fighting and Pyrrhus could look towards the treacherous roman dogs

He now had a full army of well trained, well equipted veteran troops which he was planning to take across the roman border.

Only a few scattered roman garrisons stood against him
But he knew how much of a toll scattered garrisons could take on
large armies. They take small chunks off an army every time they attack and eventualy wear it down to nothing.After consulting his consel he concluded the most suitable path to take was to securethe south and work his way towards rome. First he layed seige to Neopolis to secure a second base. The romans mustered what forces they could and
attempeted to lift the seige. They engaged on the 15th of august outside the walls of Neopolis.

The news that enamy reinforcements were held up elswere came early in the morning and Phyrrus decided to engage the relief force before the garrison could rally to their defence.
He first sent forward his pelatsts

and cavalry to skirmish with the enamy velites. However he also moved his famous elephants

to the flank so when his cavalry charge he can unleash them onto unprotected legionaires. Our crack cavalry had now sought out the enamy captain and were massacering his bodyguard. His men were cowards and flead,he was caught in the rout. The cavalry now attacked the main infantry body.The elaphants then hit the rear of the enamy battle line

causing a full rout. the remaining enamies were hunted down and killed like rabbits. 1367 enamies died compaired to our 157,a great victory!

The writing isn't too bad at all, though the spelling and grammer needs a bit of fixing. Plus, it would be better to include the pictures along with the text, instead of attaching all of them at the bottom, and having to use them as footnotes. But overall, not a bad start.

Chapter 2:Massacre at Croton
After his astounding victory against Rome Pyrrus managed to confine the
Latin rebels to one last city-Croton. This long and brutal siege gave Epirus
Its reputation of a merciless, ruthless nation. Pyrrus had left his most able general,
Kapria, in charge of the army besieging Croton. His orders were clear, eradicate all
Rebel forces in the region and make an example that would be remembered for a thousand
Generations . Kapria followed these orders to the letter.

Late night, 24 September:
The two forces began skirmishing with peltasts and cavalry. Spears rained down upon the rebel
And Epriot ranks. Heavy losses were inflicted on both sides. Then the cavalry routed the enemy skirmishers, leaving a ribbon of enemy dead trailing behind them.

The enemy hoplites lead a sortie out of the main gate, heading straight towards our
stranded cavalry. Our commander however had foresaw this situation and had
Already sent the main body of our infantry towards the gate. The two lines met with a
Great roar. The enemy infantry were inferior to ours but much more numerous.

The enemy infantry were slowly being encircled by our troops who were cutting down
Great swathes of enemies. There only hope was that the remaining skirmishers could
Somehow flank our men and distract them long enough to let them slip away from our
Advancing spears. They also had 1 unit of pike men out side the wall who could
Save the day. Kapria dispatched his elite pike men to deal with this lat threat.

They were quickly dispatched .The town was taken eventually but the men
Who fought bravely for position of it mainly decorated the ground.



since this battle i have captured rome but i hate siege battle so i left it out
sorry

The second roman war


One year after the sack of croton phyrrus Consolidated his rule of the southern half of Italy.However beyond the watchful eyes of his loyal generals
the beaten roman cowards were slowley bulding up there armys.Phyrrus mustered the largest army ever seen in italy to defeat the roman dogs once and for all.

they met midday 26 august on the ouskirts of rome.
As was the favored tactic of Epiriot armies the skirmishers were first sent
forward to wound the enamy army which lacked sufficent cavalry to deal
with the threat.

The javlin armed cavaly began to rain missiles down uppon unprotected roman hastati. Many men fell before one Epriot died. The pelatast skirmishers
then arrived and completley massacered the roman ranks.

when the roman ranks were sufficently thin our heavy elite
pikemen began to advance. The roman general fought bravely,
rallying his troops to meet our threat.

However in war bravery
is not enough to win.The light cavalry then re-commenced there
vicious bombardment against the general, he was struck by
a lucky spear. The man who killed him was later promoted into
the ranks of heavy cavalry

At last the infantry broke and our men could begin hunting
them down.
This victory secured the Italian countryside, Leaving Phyrrus to finish Rome
totaly

the Sicilian invasion


After their shameful defeats the romans finaly sued for peace.
Long disscusions over their fate took place the following day.
The romans then agreed to become protectorate of Eprius and
pay a regular tribut of 5000 denarii for 12 years.

Now Phyrrus had 4 armies to use elswere.After a consul with his
generals he decided to invade Sicily.He led 3 of the 4 armies to ostia to await the fleet and the other one was to arrive in sicily and create a
foot hold.

The army in Sicily immediatly besieged Massila and waited for the
reinforcements to arrive. On their arrival they set out against the
remaining Syracusian strongholds

The only land army remaining of syracuse set out to lift the siege of
the capitol.


Our men were eager for the fight after such a tedious siege.
The two forces met on a plain outside the walls of the city.
Epriot soldiers flooded the plain and awed the enamy who
were few in number.

As the armies met the hoplites of syracuse held out well for a while until
the elite pikemen arrived to give our forces the edge.

Our wise commander had encircled the enamy with cavalry who waited
for the oppertune moment to strike.

the enamy held on for a little longer until the commmander died
and left them leaderless.
Only 100 enamies survived our merciless asault and they left a
road of dead as a warning to all who opppose the superpower
that is Eprius

syracuse distroyed


Once Syracusian moral was utterly destroyed the mopping up opperation
could finaly begin.The whole western side of the island was under
Epriot control.Phyrrus could now concentrate all his forces on the
remaing carthaginian garrisons. He first sent a diplomat to ask for
peace. The conditions were as such:The coplete withdrawal of all
carthaginian troops in sicaly and malta. However carthage would only
withdraw from sicily. We accepted these terms and planned our next move.

Phyrrus' scouts reported a large force of carthaginian troops on the
north-western coast of the island which were in violation of the treaty.
Phyrrus sent one army under Kapria to deal with this threat. Now we all
know carthage to be a foolish nation but what happened in this battle
makes no sence at all. The two armies-evenly matched-faced each other
on the coast then as soon as our skirmishers arrived the enamy began to
withdraw!

Our cavalry pursued them to the edge of the field and killed many
of the fools!

Now this force had been dealt with Phyrrus could turn his
attention towards carthage. The mother of all battles has begun!!!
