Save Game File

I need to pass on the save game file of the RTW/BI mod Invasio Barbarorum Flagellum Dei but cannot locate it.

I've searched every file in the mod directory and the Vanilla directory and not only can I not find it but cannot locate ANY save from either RTW/BI, IBFD, Imperium Julianorum or NTW2 - all games I play regularly and from save points (except NTW2 of course). What going on?

I running Vista - is there some issue here regarding admin permissions?

I've already edited the desktop icon to give myself admin privileges but don't knw what to do!

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, Mr SeniorBatavianHorse, it will be your Vista problem. Vista automatically stores all your saves in a hidden folder called VirtualStore. If you enter this into the address bar in "My Computer", you should be able to find your saves.

C:\Users\Cool\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\The Creative Assembly

If you have your RTW files in some folder that is called something other than "The Creative Assembly", replace "The Creative Assembly" with the name of folder that you have RTW files in.

Or you can turn off UAC in User accounts controls, this will get rid off User Access control and stop that silly pop up "please enter your pw" every time you try to do anything

Umm, well, now all the save games are gone! Which is slightly frustrating as I was some 20 turns into an Imperium Julianorum campaign. What happened?

I changed the UAC privileges as recommended and found the save file in VirtualStore, copied it, pasted it to the desktop and then uploaded it to filefront. Am I missing something here?!


EDIT: never mind. Did a system re-install from an earlier point. Wondered what caused it though?!
