So I just installed, everything installed fine, the game loads up, but when I go to select a faction in the campaign, it crashed to desktop. Any way I can fix this??

First of all make sure that you've got the -show_err switch on your shortcut target. Some errors are trapped by the exe and will be reported as errors as the game does a CTD. These are usually file missing messages but others are also shown.
Quite often this (your CTD) can be caused by a map.rwm file existing when you start a campaign. Delete or rename all map.rwm files. This is safe to do as the file is recreated from other text files when you launch a campaign or load one if the file is not present.
I would suggest that you make sure that the -show_err switch is there before you try this.

Hey, so I tried both ways. It shows the -err in the shortcut, it says this exactly "C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -nm -show_err
Is this the way its supposed to look? Well anyway, i tried deleting the map things, and I got all of them, but its still not working. It goes to the menu and everything for Roma Surrectum, but it still has saved games from previous mods and RTW. Not sure why, I uninstalled them all. And when you select a faction in the campaign menu, it crashed to desktop, and says Rome has stopped working. Completely lost?????
Yes, the shortcut target looks OK (assuming that it's the correct folder).
The only thing that is a worry is that other saved games are present. To me this may mean that some of the other mods did not get removed properly.
Did you install the other mods to the same folder (the game folder - where the exe is) and were they mod foldered (that is did they get intstalled into thier own folder in the game folder rather than the data folder?)
I think the best approach would be to install RS 1.5a into a clean game folder with RTW 1.5 (and RTW 1.6). This may mean an unstall and re-install (make sure you clean out all entries in the windows registry if you do that - the following post will explain how to do that http://rtw.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/f...&f=3,3340,,all ).
I personally keep each mod in it's own game folder - even if it's a mod foldered version (which means it could be installed with other mod foldered games).
I have a clean RTW 1.5 RTW 1.6 which I take a copy of and create a new folder specifically for the new mod. It does take up more disc space but on most modern PCs that isn't usually a problem.

Alright so I followed the instructions to manually removing it exactly. I checked to make sure the saved games were deleted, by going into the game after I reinstalled it. They weren't there. I installed RS, then the patch, then went in. Saved games are back, not deleted, and it still crashes to desktop. Did i not get rid of the saved games or something? Im so confused, Ive used mods before, and never had a problem. What am i doing wrong??
If you managed to delete the game folder after the manual uninstall then the saved games (from your previous install) should not appear. Are you using Windows Vista?

Yeah, I have Windows Vista. Is that whats doing it?
Windows Vista puts the saves elsewhere than the main game folder. So if you delete the game folder after an uninstall and then reinstall you've not touched your saves.
Who knows what else has been left lying around.
I don't use Vista yet (I'm expecting a new desktop to be delivered soon with Vista 64 bit).
